Old Fashioned Oatmeal Cookies

Old Fashioned Oatmeal Cookies

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

2 tbsps oil
2 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 c nonfat dry milk powder
1/2 cup water
3/4 c applesauce
1 1/4 c whole wheat flour
1/3 c soy flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/8 tsp salt
2 1/2 c rolled oats

*Preheat over to 350°

*beat shortening, sugar and eggs until smooth
*Add powdered milk, applesauce and water and mix thoroughly.
*in a small bowl, sift together flours, soda, baking powder, spices and salt.
*Add dry flour mixture to liquids and mix on low speed until blended and smooth
*Add oats and mix until thoroughly moistened.
*Drop dough by 1/8 cup portions onto lightly greased cookie sheets - about 3 inch centers.
*Bake 20-22 minutes until lightly browned.
*Cool on a wire rack.

A nutritious 'bread' type oatmeal cookie as an alternative to the sugar and shortening 'crispies' that are generally made.

Apricot Angel Kisses

2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups chopped dried apricots
1 cup chopped macadamia nuts
1 cup sugar
1stick butter
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon baking soda



combine all ingredients and mix well... spoon on to cookie sheet and bake at 425 for 4 to 5 minutes... let cool

topping-

4 squares bakers dark chocolate
1/2 cup marshmallows
1 tablespoon butter

I melt this in the microwave.. it only takes about 20 seconds... stir until smooth and creamy, drizzle this mixture on top of cookie and let cool.

My grandmother used this recipe for years... and now I do. I never fail to get compliments on this treat.

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup butter 2 sticks margarine
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract or Southern Comfort
2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted or stirred before measuring
dash salt
1 teaspoon baking powder

PREPARATION:
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla. Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir dry ingredients into butter mixture; mixing until well blended.

Roll out and cut with cookie cutter.

Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake butter cookies at 475° for 10 minutes, or until just lightly browned. Makes 5 to 6 dozen butter cookies

a sugar cookie w/ a hershey kiss in the middle!! after you bake the cookies as soon as you pull them out u place a kiss on top and YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMY you can do it w/ peant butter cookies too
