Any type of perm is not healthy for your hair, it dries your hair out and makes it hard to manage once the perm starts wearing off, perms tend to fry hair 99.9% of the time, believe me I know from experience. You honestly need a great hair straightner, I have a CHI and it's wonderful. But make sure you use, Sleek.Look Iron smoother with it, so it won't burn your hair or anything like that. I also use Paul Mitchell Super Skinny before I blow dry, it's great you really should try it.

I had very curly hair when I was young. When I was 12 I had the Japanese hair straightening treatment done. First the salon washed my hair and applied a protein gel. Then added a solution that uncurls the hair - chemically releasing the bond that holds the curls. Another wash and application of the protein rinse. Blow dry my hair until it is sightly damp, flat ironed in very small sections. Added another solution to keep the hair straight. Finally added a conditioning substance and flat ironed again to dry.

I was not allowed to wash my hair for 3 days and must be kept moisture free. After that, my hair was soft, shiny and in fantastic condition lasted about 6 months.

It took all day and costs about $300 years ago. It is costs about $500-$800 now.

I am a hairdresser that is certified in this process. First of all, the end result will resemble Asian hair, in that your hair will be so straight that you may not have other styling options. Also, plan to spend$$$$. You cannot clip, wash, or put your hair in a pony for 72 hrs., and must be available to go to the salon to have it re-flat ironed if needed. The results are beautiful, but depending on the end result, you may have other options.

You see, little Suzie, it is perfectly ok to have frizzy hair "down there." Before resorting to Japanese straightening techniques, which I understand involve copius amounts of Sushi and Soy sauce, you should consider a hip replacement.

If you go to someone that is experienced---really experienced--in that process, then it'll do good. Also, my favorite straightener is the CHI thermal straightener. It works really good, isn't real bad for your hair and isn't as expensive as the other. It is around 200.00 - 350.00 depending on where you live. That is what I would do if it were me. Good luck!

It's not good for your hair. It dries your hair out and causes your hair to fall off causing bald spots. It's not worth it. Try asking your stylist for better alternatives.

i heard it really really expensive and only lasts like 6 months.
I tried to check it out once at this hair shop, and maybe she was over priced but i remember her saying it was close to $1,000.
