Is that the numbers of the beast or is it________? Does the 666 number really pertain to the beast or is it a scare tactic? Its been said every human's name has a number. Its decided by either the first or last name, and the system used is based on an old code. I don't know the code, I might try to find out, but, how?

Keep in mind that "0" is not a number. so, in 6-6-06 it becomes 666.

The code is a form of numerology called Gematria and it's from this that the significance of 666 is derived. Gematria uses Hebrew letters and assigns a number between 1 and 900 to each letter. When Neron Caesar is written in Hebrew it is Nrwn Qsr and the numerical values ofA Nrwn Qsr add up to 666 (do a Google search for Nrwn Qsr for more info).
Incidentally, the original 'number of the beast' was 616 but somehow it got changed to 666 and has been that for a few hundred years now. Also, the date today going by the Christian calendar is May 25th 2006 (we use the Gregorian calendar which skipped 12 days some time back in the 1500's).

Conspiracy Theorists think that 666 is the number of the devil. In the bible it says something like that. Here is a quote from Wikipedia

In the Bible Revelation 13:18 Calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666. Read all of Revelation 13, it will make more sense. Basically it is the number of the beast. It doesn't have anything to do with today's date. Think about it, did anything happen on 06-06-1006, obviously not, we are still here. It's all a scare tactic for no-believers.

666 is the sing of the beast but I don't believe that today is the rapture as some people believe. 666 is a scary group of numbers that have been around for ages, but I think that today's date has nothing to do with the rapture or the beast. I think that god would have sent us some sings if today was the rapture. I was a little scared that the end of the world would be today, but I have faith in god and I know what ever happened, god loves me and you.

I really don't think that it's a big deal. I was planning on going to see the new The Omen today because I really liked the old one. Anyway it isn't really 6-6-6. It really is 06-06-2006, so no noting will happen today. 6-6-6 happened a very long time ago, and it won't happen again. It's not like there is going to be an Armageddon, or the Apocalypse today so don't worry.

it reminds me of how sorely disappointed I am that many Christians almost completely ignore history in favor of literal translation of the bible.
the fact that today's date is 666 and that 666 is mentioned in the bible have nothing to do with each other

the man that is called the beast happened to be in charge of the roman govt at the time some of the bible was written that's all it is. it has nothing to do with the devil or the end of the world

666 is the number of the beast. The date doesn't mean anything because the antichrist is not in power yet...but I do not think it will be much longer. This world is going to hell in a handbasket; we all need to realize this. And yes, I am serious!
