In many cases, but not always. Some people are mature for their age and others are not mature enough for their age. Age is just a number....the person and their mentality is what plays the major role in a relationship.

I think only if you allow it to or if there is such a large gap that the two people are really at an entirely different stage of their lives. My husband and I have a 15 year age difference and about the only time we notice at all is if we are referencing pop culture from our childhoods. Alot of times the differences may be very minor but people outside the relationship want to make it a larger problem than it really is.

I think in some cases it can. Depending on the age difference the two could really look at things differently. i guess that could also depend on how they were raised though. A friend of mine is dating a younger guy and he is a little more on the wild side than she is. So I think it really depends on the people if it will effect the relationship or not.

Well let me tell you my little story......

When I was 16 I was dating a 25 year old man. My mom had a hissy fit and my dad was OK with it because he liked him and know him pretty good. Well everyone was running their mouth about us and our families so we broke up. I KNEW I was in love with this man, I knew he was in love with me. Well we both moved on with our lives and had other relationships. But just as soon as I turned 18 years old I dropped what I was doing and called him up and we got back together. There was nothing anyone could say about it because I was "of age". Well now we have been married for 2 years and have a great family, and couldn't be happier.

So to answer your question...
I would have to say that it all depends on how old you are and how much you think its worth fighting over. And I guess it depends on how big of an age difference we are talking about here. I hope I answered this for you. And I hope my story helped out too.

I think there are alot of people who see age differences as a barrier in choosing who they go out with. But personally, i feel its whats one the inside that counts. If you can feel so strongly about someone then why should there age matter? Of course it would be wrong for a minor to be dating an adult but otherwise, if the law isnt being broken and theres nothing else wrong, then age is nothing...

i think age does matter, depending on how old you are its more or less important :
if your 18 or younger and the age difforance is more than 2 years, problems can come from one person expecting more from the other (physically or in how you handel situations)
if you want to date make sure your on the same page before dating.
if your older than 18 it doesnt matter so much, but dont have more than 10 years. its kind of gross and shouldnt be done.

..well, yes and no. If you're dating someone that's a 'father figure' you are kind of screwing yourself there .. (Who wants to date their dad? hell, you want a real boyfriend, right?) I don't like fat, bald old guys getting their jollies w/younger chicks either (obviously getting used for cash.) That kinda sux. I do tend to think people ought to be close in age (5.. 6 years difference max) because there's just a lotta little stuff you can 'laff about' w/your partner that you have got in common. My husband and I ..53/54... laff at stupid stuff a lot of you are too young to remember.. like 'remember fizzies?' and crap like that. My husband's into old 60's songs (which we sing together.. sounds dorky I know.. but what the hell..) later (melancholia..60's child)

yes sometimes. Different generations tend to have different views on things. For instance, my boyfriend is 9 years older than me. We have different views on music, i call his music old school, his calls mine crap, I call him conservative, he calls me tatoo biker chick. But overall we both want the same thing out of life, the bad part is, sometime we are still on two different levels. He has already done what I am still doing, but he accepts that, and waits for me to catch up to him. It just depends on the people, and how willing they are to work with each other, and how much the difference is.

As long as you aren't a minor I don't think age difference matters. Be careful though different ages have different ways.

I think it really depends on who the people are. How much of an age difference it is. And how mature both of them are....
