I cant keep letting them watch TV! they are actually getting tired of it! and I am getting tired of them fighting over me and who i have to play with! i am also getting tired of playing with them the whole time! do you have any ideas of things they can do together w/out fighting? Things that they find boring: TV, sidewalk chalk, coloring, flashcards or anything school related. They are 5 and 9 and there is no way to stop the fighting

Of course there's no way to stop the fighting.. you'll pretty much never be able to do that. Try doing something fun outside, like red light/green light; play a game of some sort in a sport they're interested in; have a hunt of some sort where they can win a prize. Kids may be picky, but you can always find SOMETHING they're interested in. And it IS possible to let them play by themselves.. they don't always need to be together. Perhaps go to a park nearby where they can interact with other children.

I am a preschool teacher and have 2 kids and both could spend hours stringing beads. I used to buy the big bag a walmart and get string for the 9 year old and pipecleaners/chenelle stems for the 5 year old. They can string for hours. The plastic canvas also works well for kids.

Well..........how much longer do you have to baby-sit? Ummmmmmmm you can allow them to play a board game or if you're old enough to drive, take them out to get ice cream! AND you can hit the nearest Blockbuster and rent the movies they want to see. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!
