I'm thinking about going under hypnosis to help me with...ahem....out-of-the-box sexual fantasies because they're really becomming a problem with me and I need to be repulsed by them to resist having my thoughts dwell in them all the time.

Yes, but why?

You sound normal to me...or am I abnormal?

It does seem to help with confidence and smoking.

There sounds like there needs to be more information gathered. Does hypnosis work, most certainly. Does it work well for all situations, not necessarily. I am not sure that your request is something that hypnosis can help. If I was working with you, I would need more information to make that decision.

I think where hypnosis can help is helping you view or reframe the situation differently. I double I could or anyone could get you to be repulsed. Giving you a suggestion like that most likely wouldn't work. You wouldn't believe it. Hypnosis is not a magic wand. I just can't put you in a trance and make you think a certain way. I can use it to help find out why you want this fantasy. I can use it to help you experience it in your own mind. I can help with a lot of different strategies in dealing with your issue.

Yes, but it's shaky.

Hypnosis can work, but it depends on the individual. Some people can be hypnotized easier than others. There is also the danger of the hypnotist "planting" a memory (however inadvertantly). While under hypnosis, a person is highly suggestible. However, hypnosis can bring up deeply repressed memories.

Have you considered other forms of therapy for this? Behavioral or cognitive treatments may be just as effective, as would psychodynamic therapy. If you stick with hypnotism, be sure to check out the therapist's credentials.

Yes, hypnosis works. No one is completely sure how hypnosis works, Hypnosis is about logically approaching the creative mind, there is nothing too weird about it.

We go in and out of the hypnotic state several times throughout the day. And, we know that the subconscious mind is more open to suggestion in the hypnotic state,so the goal of hypnosis is to get to the hypnotic state and use repetitive suggestions to change our thought patterns and our habits.

That's about it, except for one other factor...YOU.

To succeed at anything in life, you have to want to succeed. Hypnosis can clear away mental obstacles in your path, making it easier, but hypnosis is not going to make you quit smoking if you have no desire to quit smoking.

More and more people are turning to hypnosis everyday because they see how effective it is compared to other treatments.

Hypnosis does work please be careful on what’s you do with your self. Later in life you might end up with multiple personality if you have too many treatments, say about 200+. It has been proven that it really works.

Side Effects are as follows,

Confusion
Seeing Perceptive Reality
Having multiple personality
Having heroic dreams extensively and nightmares here and there.

You don’t have to worry about below 200 treatments because it doesn’t affect you much.
When you got 300+ treatments you’re mesed up.

My husband and I both went to a hypnosis session to lose weight. It was a group session. I don't believe I was even hypnotized. It didn't help either of us.

However, my husband went on a one on one session to quit smoking. He hasn't smoked for 5 years now.

So, it can work, but it's not 100% effective.

u sound pretty normal to me also, and causing you to be repulsed by sexual thoughts sounds like a very bad thing. I think what you need to do is work thru this thing. Come lay on the couch & we'll see if we can't wear yiou out.

You can only be hypnotized to do something you subconsciously want to do.
