Yes they do matter but in most instances its the thugs and players that have got the bottle to ask women out.

Yes, but not nearly as much as women pretend they do.
The bottom line is that the alpha male is the alpha male because it works.
The sweetest, nicest little skinny b**** of a man in the world is never going to turn a girl on quite the same as a strong, attractive tough guy.

Think of it from an evolutionary perspective. To pass on as many genes as possible, a woman needs someone to help her raise her children. Meanwhile, she wants her male children to spread their genes are far as possible.
Reconciliation: Marry a man of character who will take care of you while finding some male slut to be your kids' biological dad. Lets face it, a slut is gonna make a lot more grandkids (pass on your genes) a lot more effectively than a nice boy. Assuming such behavior is more genetic than learned, you want your sons' Dad to be a "player."
