to a relative that has overstayed their welcome?
And if they were all to be deported would you sigh a sigh of relief,or would you miss them?

The ones who came legally and overstayed I'd compare to that, the others were never invited.

To be honest, if deportation were that simple, the benefit to the school my kids are in would outweigh any downside and I would probably breath a sigh of relief. (You understand that if I know any illegals I don't know who they are, so I am kind of shooting blind, here.)

However, deportation would in reality be messy, with lots of 'good people' being deported, lots of front page coverage of crying children....

Yuck.

Because of that, except for the ones no country would want, I'd rather keep them here, not give them a preference to bring in others, secure the border and stop illegal immigration going forward. I would also not increase existing legal immigration rates until we are properly able to educate those already here, including our own.

No, my relatives come invited for a certain period of time. The relatives I have here from other countries are here because they did so the law abiding way, LEGALLY! They were not susceptible to deportation because they did not break the law! Illegal immigrants are law breakers. If I break the law I pay the consequences, as should anyone else.

that is a good analogy...but not a relative more like a neighbor or a friend...i would sigh a sigh of relief...finally we can get back to doing what needs to be done for Americans, looking out for ourselves for a change and not the whole world.

If they were all deported, in your scenario, I'd breathe a sigh of relief and tell them to stay in a hotel next time.

No. I do have a problem with them being here because of what we have aloud. My husband and I are currently trying to straiten out problems with the IRS we don't mind paying our share and take responsibility for our oversight but it is real hard when you hear of those who have live off this country tax free
But on the other hand most of those who do cross the boarder to work are the hardest and most honest workers they take job that some citizens draining our welfare system dry are to lazy to do.
I don't think we can blame the people its our policies that have led to this situation

The key word here is "welcome." Illegal immigrants weren't ever "welcomed." They came uninvited (unless you count the employers who hire them, which I don't). They are only welcome when they apply through the proper channels. If I had an uninvited relative drop in on me, I don't think I would be all too welcoming to them, either, and would be probably quite happy when they leave. I hate drop-in visitors! Give me a phone call and ask me if it is convenient for you to come and I will let you know, but don't just drop in!

I don't no any illegals, but their are millions of single men that have come across the border that need to be deported, no I don't compare them to relatives, I compare them to law breakers.

Well if my relative is quiet and enjoyable, sure they can stay but If my relative is noisy, eats all my food, takes my car out for a spin, and brings it back with no gas, then I would kick them out. And no I wouldn't miss illegal immigrants.

YES-relief at last. Nothing wrong with missing them. Living forever with me is different. Than you better have the same values.

In that hypothetical scenario we would definitively miss them, although our senators are not as stupid as some of the racists here and there would not be massive deportation.
