You may want to ask the pit bull owner if his dog is cat friendly.

Surprisingly, many pit bulls actually have cat friends.

If your cat does not like dogs, then keep the cat indoors. If she is with you most of the time, she will get used to your schedule and become more active during the day and sleep on your pillow at night.

You can also get her a fellow cat friend to keep her company. A fixed male from classifieds should work well. Get one that is a full-time indoor cat and you will have most of the battle won.

We have lots of feral cats in our area, and we fix what we can catch. Some of them make great house cats, while others are not happy indoors but thrive as barn cats.

Good luck in your search for a calm, cool, house cat to help your kitty adjust.

Hopefully your hubby feels better soon too!

Yes- It'll take about a month or so for her to stop crying to be out, but stick with it, and you'll both get through it.

Or, if you can cat fence your yard- that would work. There are systems out there, and do it yourself instructions if you do a search for cat fence on the internet.

Trust me, she will get over it. Just don't let her out. I have adopted 3 grown cats from the local shelter, all of which were outside cats. Now, none of them go out, ever. She'll whine and meow for awhile, but she will get over it (and probably live longer).

Its too late....A cat wants freedom...if he /she never experienced freedom from the house it would not be a problem. You have your hands full with this one.

Good Luck
