Make it a game... they love to shoot things with water right? well put cherrios in the toilet and tell him to aim at them when he has to go pee pee. Also make a poster board to go in the bathroom giving him points everytime he goes to the potty once he goes potty 5 times give him a little prize. Also let him pick out his first pair of underwear. The more special they are the less likely he is to make a mess in them. When he does go in his pants don't be mad at him just let him know that he should have gone in the toilet because that is what big kids do. It will be trying and take time. Good luck!

Two is to young. Dont push it. Both of my kids were trained when they were three. If you cant wait let him run around without a diaper and put a potty seat in front of the tv or wherever you know he will find it. The bathroom isnt always the best place because they think they need to go on the big one and they dont.
If he wants to use the big potty, put cheerios in the bowl and tell him to aim at them. But if he isnt waking up from naps and in the morning with a dry diaper he may not be ready. Good luck!

Here is what I tried and it work. I got a potty seat and I used it myself with my child in the bathroom with me. She is the type that does everything mommy does. And now she using the potty and has since about 18 months, and only wears diapers overnight in the crib. Also, underwear is a good idea, they get the idea not to pee or poop in it very fast instead of pull ups which are too much like diapers. Good Luck.

Ill tell you what worked for me. If you live in the country or have a fenced in back yard....let him pee out of the backdoor. My son loved it. Also with it being summer you can let him run around outside naked or in underpants. That icky feeling of being wet along with the novelty of being able to pee on a tree......worked magic with my son. I also put dawn dishwashing liquid in the potty and when he went.....it made bubbles. I made it a big thing everytime he went and gave him a skittle as a reward. All of this together made it real easy to potty train him. I hope this helps and good luck

You have to have a mini party when he cooperates. Blow horns.. baloons.. applaud.. praise.. stickers.whatever! Put them by the potty and tell him that when he makes some poop he gets a prize! but only big boys get to use it and get prizes! you can have a man show him how to pee and give the man the "prize" (pats on the back etc.) the deal is to make him WANT to - and you gotta think like a 2 year old. He is expressing his anal retentiveness :-) Try not to fret. I've never seen a kindergartener in diapers - he will come around eventually!

Some just take longer than others.
Did you try buying some big boy pants with spiderman or his favorite cartoon character on them., and tell him we don't wet these.
Try having a 3 or 4 year old boy go in and show him how big and easy it is to do. Sometimes just watching an older child will do the trick. Remember how they like to imitate Dad?

He might just not be ready yet. My three year old just got potty trained, but my two year old will sit for an hour and not go after he told me he had to pee. I just think they might not understand fully what it means.

Wait, wait, wait....and always say that he could have used the potty when you are changing his diaper. My son never wanted to potty train and then one day he did want to wear underpants, I let him, he had accidents but we never went back...a pair of wet drawls will encourage you to make it. I also gave him a reward..candy..crayons..something he wants that's cheap. Best wishes

Don't push him because it will take even longer just make sure you praise him when he goes on the potty even if he's just sitting on it doing nothing. He'll do it when he's ready
