I gave up my possessions, family, life as I knew it, security, etc. to persue a man whom I knew I would never have but the idea of losing what I had with him and not being able to find someone new (family was going to interfere with any future relationships I had) was something I couldn't deal with. I find myself alone and insecure in my life and financially. I am still involved with the guy but he hasn't had to give up anything in his life (his wife doesn't spy on him) and I have tried hard to find a single man to have a relationship with but they all seem to be so picky or if they are interested in me , they are boring beyond imagination (one wanted to do nothing but sit around his house and watch sports on tv) . Has anyone else given up everything to be with someone and was I stupid to give up everything to persue the best thing that happened to me in years ( sad, but true) as the times I have with him are great.

well i gave up going to a good school in order to be with this guy, whom at the time I thought would be my man forever. if a guy isn't willing to compromise anything to be with you then why should you do the same. take sometime apart from him, and you will slowly gain that nich you need to find yourself and what you really want out of life again.
