Ever go to the grocery store and see apple and cinnamon oatmeal or "Peaches and Cream"? Any oatmeal with natural flavoring, is it good for you? I'm in my mid twenties and I'm starting to depend on it as an every morning breakfast or sorts?

Oatmeal is good for the heart but since it is a starch it will produce carbohydrates. The flavor stuff that you use isn't health (remember sugar is complex starches). Hope that helps you out.

Probably no, not as healthy. Most flavored oatmeals a.) are instant; and b.) have sugar and chemical flavorings added. Instant oatmeal is higher glycemic, because the process of breaking it down to make it instant also changes the chemical properties and lowers the fiber and overall health value. And of course, refined sugar and chemical additives are to be avoided whenever possible.

So if you want oatmeal to really give you the best possible health and nutritional benefit, don't mess with a good thing. Just eat plain, old fashioned slow cooking oats, with nothing added but your own fresh organic fruits, natural spices, and some skim or soy milk.

Yes I like old fashioned oatmeal,it takes a little longer to cook but,I add dried fruit like cherried flavored cranberries from the health food store nutmeg, cinnamin ,vanilla and sweetner a much healtier version.

The best one for you is the one that is the least processed. The flavored ones are more processed and tend to be higher in sugar and lower in fiber.

I like the cinnamon kind and the honey flavored. Stuff that is kindof like what I would put in it anyway.

Oh yeah. It just has more sugar in it. Oatmeal is a good fiber source and good for your cholesterol.

It is still good for you, it just has a lot more sugar. It depends what you are eating it for. It will still lower your cholesterol but it isn't good if you are diabetic.

I think it ok to eat. Not healthy.....but also not as bad as regular cereal, pancakes, or muffins most people eat in the morning. So you should be ok eating it.

Yes, it's the fiber no matter what flavor it is.
