I'm going over to Germany in 15 days and in America I haven't really had the chance to build up my tolerance yet.. since I'm only 17 and drinking age is 16 over there.

I heard that I wasn't supposed to eat stuff that was fatty.. my exchange student told me that you want something that will let the drink go into your blood right away if it doesn't then it just all hits you at once and you're finished LOL

You don't want to eat greasy foods or anything that will upset your stomach before. It will not coat your stomach. What what to do is to eat something that will fill you up, like bread, crackers , other starches, etc. The goal is to slow down the rate that alcohol is absorbed by your body so it has more time to be processed. There is a whole bunch of science behind this. You need to eat close to the time that you will be drinking. Your stomach could clear itself in two hours.
Since alcohol interferes with your body's method of controlling how much water you retain(involves the kidneys), you need to drink a lot of water before you go to bed. The ratio is something like 8 oz. for every drink. Alcohol causes you to pee out more liquids than the body normally would. That is why alcohol can cause dehydration.
To prevent handover, clear liquors and more expensive beer will help to minimize them. The reasoning behind this has to do with the chemical makeup of the drinks. Basically dark liquor and cheap beer have more of a chemical that causes handovers.

If you plan to eat BEFORE you drink eat anything rich in oil or grease. Chicken wings are my fave. The grease/oil will help coat your stomach and not allow the alcohol to get into your system as fast. I don’t care what others might say. It works.
If you plan to eat WHILE drinking then pick a food that will soak up some of the liquid. Like starchy foods (potatoes, breads, etc).
If you plan on eating after you are drunk, then it is too late … sorry.
No food will stop you from getting drunk, but different techniques will give you a higher “tolerance” if done correctly.
The longer you can keep alcohol in the stomach, the higher the chance you have of letting the acids in your stomach break it down.
But don’t be fooled. The alcohol starts absorbing into your bloodstream the minute it touches your lips.
The best thing to do is experiment. One night, don't eat anything and drink 3 beers in an hour and see how you feel.
The 2d night eat some chicken wings and drink 3 beers in an hour and see how you feel.
The 3d night, eat pasta or French fries and drink 3 beers in an hour and see how you feel.
Just keep the amount of liquor and the time consumed about the same and test it out.
You got 15 days of experimenting to do. Good luck.
And remember … always have a wingman, especially in a foreign country.

When I first went to Germany, they told me to eat soda crackers with peanut butter before I started drinking, and it worked real good. You have to watch how much beer you drink in Germany because it has a higher alcohol content than american beer.

Fried potatoes. But really, you're only 17, try to abstain from alcohol. It may seem cool to drink it, but when you're puking all over yourself in front of that cute girl, it wont seem so cool then.
