You should make sure you are going to be in fundamental agreement about these issues before you get married and have children. That's one of many issues you should deal with in premarital counseling.

If it is just your son, and not his.......tell him to mind his fracking business. In reality, tell him that his advice is welcome, but you are momma, and momma rules.

If it is his and your child, you should both sit down and list different things that your son has done to deserve punishment, and how each of you would handle it separately. Hopefully, finding middle ground. For example, my husband and I (no kids yet) feel differently on their grades. He feels straight A's, and nothing else. I feel if the child has put forth their very best effort, and only gets a C or B, then I should encourage that. We have agreed to view each grade and class separately depending on our child's strengths and weaknesses.

I hope this helps and Good Luck!!

I don't think that scolding you son is the best way and only way to do that, but tell him what mistakes his done and why can't do that or you can listen to his opinions and create a"loving " environments between your son and you.It will encourage the relationship between 2 of you!

You said boyfriend and your son, therefore it is none of his business. Then again, it is none of my business. Also you have not told me wherein lies the problem, Is your child misbehaving to an extreme? Is not, you are doing a fine job. Is he misbehaving because of your boyfriend? You have a problem. Both of these boys want your attention.
If you wish, email me more details and I will give you the sagest advise I can. Otherwise, good luck with your boys.

If the boyfriend is not the father, then it's not really his call. It's YOUR child, and since he's your boyfriend and not your husband, he may or may not be around to deal with the consequences of your discipline. You, on the other hand will definitely have to live with them.

Good luck.

You both talk it out, both hear each other, and instead of criticizing one another, be open minded and try to explain why you disagree with the way that he/she wants to do things, let them see how it might hurt or confuse the child and be willing to go half and half... Where you both feel comfortable... Point out that you are not only parents, but you are also a couple...

you definitely need to work this out. you have to come up with a plan that you both agree upon and use it. it is so important that you work together on this so that your child knows you and your boyfriend are a team. kids are really smart and can tell when and who they can get things by. So sit down and seriously discuss this you should be able to come to a common ground.

first of all is the boyfriend the daddy? second how old is the child? If the boyfriend is not the daddy then you are the one to take care of the discipline of the child . also you have to do age approved discipline.
