Is there somewhere in the NT where some of the 613 rules in Leviticus were crossed out, and others highlighted?

The Israelites lived under the Mosaic law. Christians live by the law of Christ. Many laws from Moses were carried over into Christianity, but there were also many that were no longer required. The principle of many laws still remains.
1 Corinthians 1 reminds Christians not to steal, commit adultery, commit fornication, steal, get drunk, and it speaks of men kept for unnatural purposes.
Romans chapter 1 speaks against men who left the natural use of the female and became violently inflamed with their lust for one another. And it speaks of women who changed the natural use of themselves to one contrary to nature.
As far as what we eat, Romans 10:10-15 shows how the apostle Peter learned from God that there were no unclean animals. All could be used for food.

Uhm, sorry folks, but it's not a global conspiracy for Christians to bring the black helicopters and hide the secret order of the Knights Templar which has been protecting the Illuminati for the past 2000 years so that they can oppress homosexuals and women and anyone else with a high-pitched voice.
These conspiracy theories are nuts.

The reason is that Xianity only obeys sections of the Torah commandments repeated in the New Testament.
Since the prohibition against homosex is repeated in the New Testament, and the kosher laws aren't really, then Christianity (at least, most text-dependent groups) consider homosexuality a sin, and pepperoni a blessing.

It's as simple, and consistent, as that.

Because politics and men influenced and changed the bible at will...it is the book of man more than the book of god. Don't believe that it's true take a humanities class for the history and read the bible yourself...not just select passages as seems to be the trend...I like to just pray and go with my heart. It keeps me from doing things I am not comfortable with (like condemning homosexuals) and allows me to live with a clean heart knowing that I have done the best I can.

Homosexuality is also addressed in the NT, read Romans.

Homosexuality is a sin clone of fornication, adultery, killing or any sin it truly is adversarial to God. what's there no longer to understand people? supply up with all this nonsense!! "the bible reported this and that." The bible is a handbook for human existence and the non secular. one ingredient that individuals don’t say a lot is what takes position to you once you die. it really is a extreme difficulty!! as a follower of God this international isn't your very last destination. Sin will not in any respect haven't anyplace in God’s can provide. convinced no man or woman should be judging or condemning that is God's call. yet as followers of Jesus we do have the duty to face up for the actuality. Sin is dirty and deadly and there are consequences for that.

Like much of the bible, people pick and choose which passages to abide by & believe and which not to. It's alla sham. The bible doesn;t even contain all of the original scriptures, they are sitting in an archive in the vatican collecting dust. As always men pick and choose which parts are ok with them. The bible also says adulters, and brides found not be a virgin be stoned to death. As well as many oher indignificany, un believable concepts. Heres a link for more info regarding the bible and homosexuality.

Romans 14:20 (NLT)
Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. ALL FOOD IS CLEAN, but it is wrong for a man to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble

Romans 1:26 (The Message)
Worse followed. Refusing to know God, they soon didn't know how to be human either—women didn't know how to be women, men didn't know how to be men. Sexually confused, they abused and defiled one another, women with women, men with men—all lust, no love. And then they paid for it, oh, how they paid for it—emptied of God and love, godless and loveless wretches.

Notice how these things are reiterated in the NT. As another answerer said, as Christians, we are not under the, say, food laws of the OT, but there are things that are still blatantly wrong. Hope this helps, God bless!

The same reason they read Malachi 3:8 to explain tithes.
Though I guess there is a problem as God's Word is unchanging.
