Also their is a difference in the kind of owners from Ford and Toyota.

Most toyota owners open the hood, get scared of what they see and bring it to a mechanic to get it fixed.. I've seen Yota's last 300k miles, and I've seen them be junk that racks up the bills quick.... But every last one of them run it to a mechanic ...

whereas a Ford (or other american owner) are usually the kind to give it a try before they bring it somewheres.. espcailly after it's out of warranty.

ask the mechanic shops, they will tell you Toyota/nissan are like other cars.. just that you won't find the owner at autozone questioning how much is cost for a set of brakes after he tears it down and finds he lost 3 shims he needs right off the bat

It's all in the owner, how it's taken care of, and shear luck sometimes

um well see Fords are what i only own, mine never breakdown or go bad. i had a 93 ranger with 110,000 miles and if you got a dodge you would be on your second trans by 70,000 miles. For the jap crap the body will last ill give it that but the rest is crap and will go junk on you before any american. O yeah when you fix one show me your bill b/c parts aint cheap!!! You cant diss ford b/c best work truck no other is better. look at what they make....550....cant touch that, most construction use ford to tow b/c of them being best work trucks. Cars for ford dont like. not the greatest unless if you buy an old school car. Ford focus and stuff like that aint bad but not the greatest. O yeah and dont try to brag about jap crap cars b/c we beat the little honda civics with v tech all the time. With a Ford Focus Z tech. O yeah Honda S2000 are crap to, and so aint any american version of supras and skylines. They aint nuttin but junk. Dont brag about imports unless you talking, Lotus or Italian cars.

I heard the advice long ago: Buy the BIG ford, be careful of the SMALL Ford. By observation, that seems to hold true.

Have you noticed how many Crown Victoria's, Grand Marquee's, and Town Cars are still going strong at 20 years old and sometimes older.

That's because when a Toyota breaks down, people don't bother to fix it, and they just buy a new one. When a Ford breaks down, people love their car so much that they would rather fix it than part with it.

Its a question of figures, Ford has more cars in the market then most other brands, so it stands to reason that more people will complain about their Ford breaking down, but if you look at the percent of vehicles made and the percent of vehicles that break down against each manufacturer then you will see they are all about even, in fact BMW are about the worse.
