Depends on what type of bulldog you are referring too. Do you want an American Bulldog, French Bulldog, English Bulldog or even the Old English Bulldog(Olde bulldogge)
Each one has completely different needs.

English Bulldogs are the more common bulldog and probably what you are asking about. They are short and wrinkly.
They can have alot of health problems including skin problems, breathing problems(in fact, they snore and make noises that sound like a pig),and back problems. They are usually very friendly and make great family pets.
The best advice is to do ALOT of research about the breed. Read as much as you can about them. Ask around at vets and call many different breeders before you decide on one.
English Bulldogs need to have C-sections to deliver their pups, so if you ever decide to breed, keep that in mind also.

Good Luck !!
Hope this helps.

Congratulations on the decision to get a new family member!

Always check out www.petfinder.org for pets in shelters near your area. If you cannot find a pet through a local shelter then your next step is finding a responsible and ethical breeder. This is much harder than it sounds. The breeder should be most important thing to consider before buying a dog. Finding a good breeder will save you money and heartache.

Also visit the American Kennel Club website for a good list of breeders: www.akc.org

These are two REALLY GOOD links with tips on finding someone who has the welfare of the dogs in mind and are not out only to get your money.

depends on what kind of bulldog. if you are taling about an english, french, or british bulldog, to let you know they are very high maintence, you have to clean there eyes everyday for starters but to really find out more, go to the library and check on what type you are looking at, that should help you get started.

I have American Bulldogs. They are much healthier than English and French Bulldogs. I have puppies available if you would like more information (I have references also!). They are tough dogs, but extremely smart, loyal and they love kids. you can email me at no_bull_ABs@yahoo.com

They are hard to care for. Their folds of skin have to be cleaned every day and the dogs can have health problems. They are sweet but not the brightest.

Bulldogs don't like rude, ignorant, uneducated people like you. Pick another breed.
