I am Mormon which of course is a very strict religion. Regardless of what they tell me is wrong I have to believe that if God did not want there to be homosexuals in this world then the idea would never have been placed in anyone's head. God has total control as he made this world. If it is totally unacceptable then why do these things exist. We are taught not to judge as we will be judged later. If we treat those people unjustly just becasue of sexual preference then God will judge us harshly for breaking his rules. Homosexuals and Every other person in this world has the right to follow and obey God's commandments so why should they not be allowed in a church.

If there were no homosexuals (how quant a term!) in church, where would the Roman Catholic church find all its priests?
(I apologise to any gays who may take offence at being compared to RC priests!).
I do agree though that gays should be banned from churches. Once we've sorted those perverts out, we can then move on to banning heterosexuals as well, which should purify the church totally.

I believe Jesus modeled for Christians that all are invited to the banquet. Jesus was accused of eating and partying with the outsiders, the outcasts, those considered "unclean," not worthy to be a part of the religious community. Christians are supposed to be about loving God and one another. Even if you believe homosexuality is a sin, the Church is a place for everyone, and it isn't other people's place to judge who is in or out.
Unfortunately, from what I have seen on Yahoo, and other places,
right wing, conservative, Christians are sending the message that
homosexuals are an abomination and not welcome.

Of course not, Jesus came and died for our sins. All we have to do is repent and turn from those ways. So I think they should go to church and ask for forgiveness. If they are not allowed to go to church no one should, because ALL SIN IS EQUAL in the eyes of God, meaning stealing a stick of gum is the same as killing someone in the eyes of God. We have to stop judging and starting loving one another. That's what this world needs and maybe homosexuals can be delivered. They need to be where God is just like all of us, and that place is church.

I think that since the church is a private and protected institution, the church should be able to create rules that are in line with their values. If the church chooses intolerance, then they should be able to do so. The church is not the government and the government is not the church.
I find that I disagree with the church more often than not.

I believe in the bible is says that God destroyed the earth by flood because it had turn to sin (homosexuals) being on of them many sins. It also says in the end time, the world would go back to the day before the flood, is when God will come the second time with Fire...
But as far as homosexuality, my churches only preached that sin is sin, their is not one greater then the other BUT blaspheming of the holy ghost..

I don't have anything against homosexuality. I think homosexuals have just as much right to go to church as anyone else. I don't think they should be banned at all. If they start banning people, people r gonna lose there rights and freedom.

I think homosexuals should be encouraged to go to church, just like anyone else. I do think that homosexuality is a sin, but we are all sinners and the church is a hospital for sick souls. I believe with help from God we can all overcome our sins and that includes homosexuals. There is a great ministry that helps homosexuals overcome their sexuality called Exodus Ministries. I believe gays, just like the rest of us, can turn from their sins with God's help.

I don't see anything wrong with it. The higher power loves us all. Don't ask-don't tell or just keep your private life at home. I don't see anything wrong with holding hands in church, after all, the world would be a much better place if we would all just love one another. It's up to the ultimate powers that be anyway. Discrimination is a bad, bad thing in any of it's forms. This coming from a heterosexual.

First it states in the Bible that faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. So they are in the right place to hear what God has to say about the "Sin" of homosexuality. Sodom and Gomorrah were not destroyed because God loves sin. It was destroyed because it is evil. Homosexuality is an influence of the advasary the devil. He temps a person and either they keep accepting the bait he places before them or they don't. If a person wants to be delivered from that lifestyle, they first must know it is a sin : Leviticus 18:22
"Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination." Second : Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Third that temptation would not overtake them to fall into that lifestyle again:
Eph 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places].
Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Eph 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Eph 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Eph 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
The person will need prayer and an accountability buddy to call when they feel weak. That way they can pray for strength.
God wants us to love the person and hate the sin, like he does.
