Okay, if you take tuna to 5 year olds they are going to throw it at you. LOL. Keep it simple....cheese and mayo, pb & j....cut the bread with cookie cutters. You could also do ham and cheese. They are 5 and 6, ask your kid to help....see what he / she suggests and make a project out of it.

Pineapple slices and Pan-Seared Low Sodium Spam in a finger sandwich is a tasty treat. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top for some added crunch.
Some other nice flavor combinations are:
1. Grilled Chicken breast, sour cream and chopped dill.
2. Fresh Mozzarella, Tomato and Fresh Basil and Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
3. Thinly sliced Chinese Roast pork and pickled cabbage with Hoisin Sauce.
4. Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato with Mayonaise.
Try using Kew-P Mayo, the Japanese brand. It has extra egg yolk, and a stronger, "French-like" Taste.
Try making a flavored Mayonaise, by mixing Mayo with Fresh ground mustard seeds or a light horseradish for a kick.
But I think kids would like B.L.T's or spam.

2 tbsp. chopped cucumber
1/4 tsp. dried parsley flakes
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. black or white pepper

1/2 c. salad dressing
16 slices bread
4 slices longhorn cheese
1 c. small-curd cottage cheese

Black olives or stuffed olives for garnish
Drain tuna and flake. In a small mixing bowl combine tuna with onion, cucumber, parsley, salt, and pepper. Add mayonnaise and mix well.
HOT TUNA FINGER SANDWICHES:
Toast 8 slices of bread. Spread about 2 tablespoons of the tuna mixture over each of four slices of toast. Place sliced cheese on another four slices of toast. Combine and microwave for 20 seconds on HIGH.
Spread the remaining tuna mixture over four regular slices of bread. Blend remaining cottage cheese with sour cream and spread on the other four slices of bread. Combine into sandwiches and cut the crusts from the edges.
To serve Tuna Finger Sandwiches:
Cut each sandwich into 4 triangles. Top each sandwich with a slice of olive on a toothpick and arrange on a platter.

white Bread,( One loaf)
grated cheddar
2 heaping tablespoons of mayonaise
1TBSP of sandwich relish
2 TBSP of Ketchup
1 TBSP of Margarine
Set aside the bread, mix rest of ingredients together.
Paste one side of one slice of bread with mixture.
Place together with another slice of bread, trim crusts, and sandwich maybe cut up into 4 squares or into 3 making 2 triangles and 1 thin sandwich.
Enjoy!!
By the way if you're going to use white cheddar, you can make them rainbow colour.

Keep it simple. Kid's palates aren't mature enough to handle various flavors. Try peanut butter and jelly. Just cut off the crust and cut it into four triangle pieces.
You can also use marinara sauce.

(kids don't like fancy spicy food)
slices of white or whole wheat bread
shaved deli turkey or deli ham, american cheese
place meat and cheese on slices of bread. (plain or with mustard, mayo)
cookie cutters needed for this. (animals, stars, flowers or circle shapes) press a cookie cutter through each sandwich.

For five year olds... definitely hold the smoked salmon and caviar. It sounds like the perfect setting for peanut butter and marshmallow fluff, and to get fancy you can draw decorations or write their names on top with chocolate sauce.
