Because our founding fathers referred to it as: "One nation under God".

The Jewish never recognized that Chirst was their redeemer. They thought he was a man and only a Rabbi (teacher). I guess I can't blame them. They are waiting on the redeemer and I guess they were looking for fireworks and a white horse comig down with a god-like man. They already had a savior but he wasn't magnificent. He was a "regular joe". Many Jewish are converting. More and more each day, as a matter of fact. And that's a fine thing to be when the Lord does show up. It's proof of the Word going to the four corners of the earth.

We formed America based upon religious persecution. In the mother-country, they looked as those Christians as out of order. So, they loaded up and left. They had a right because Christ came here to release us from the yoke of religious bondage. They went thru alot and divided church and state, alledgedly. I don't think it helped. There is way too much hatred, money and greed for a genuine solution.

I am in Vegas right now. Those that live here are used to it. But it amazes me to realize that they are building up and not across so much now. All the condos are pretty much sold and the two Trumps (Ivana and The Donald, please) went to war. It spells disaster. It gets a bit worse each day. But, the precedent that those who left British monarchy were looking for was freedom. It never existed and won't ever be.

I'd say it's because the majority of people in America (who are religious) are Christians, our country was founded by men who more or less believed in the Christian God (though they were not actually Christians), and our laws generally reflect Christian beliefs as found in the Bible.
