It's not witnessing that I mind, I witness right along with them. It's the proselytizing that's getting a little old.

And the friendship predates the proselytizing - she's a recent convert.

Sorry...witnessing means we talk about our faiths (both Christian). Proselytizing means getting someone to join your faith.

It can be a bit of a sore spot. As is often the case with more recent converts, they are enjoying the first stages or renewal stages of their faith walk. This usually comes with an intense desire to prostelyize in order to get others to be able to share in their joy. I think it is important to remain supportive in the way that you are able. After all the great commishion does say people are supposed to go out there and spread the word. However if you feel that you are affected negatively either by the manner of their prostelyizing (which sounds like is the case) or some other factor it is important to let your friend know about this. The best Christian friendships i have had have always seemed to try and encourage and lift up both parties. Tell your friend that right now it is important to you that she is living her faith and is charged by it, but ask her to try and do so in a way that is perhaps more understanding of where you are in your faith walk right now. Perhaps discuss some things you like or dislike about her prostelyizing.

Can you tell me the difference between 'witnessing' and 'proselytizing'? Is it about permission?

If so just politely ask if you can change the subject, not to talk about that now.

"Hey, I value our friendship a lot, and I'm really glad that you've found a spiritual path that's working for you. But it's not for me. I'm just not into it like you are, and that's okay. Can we just agree to disagree on this one point? Good. Now let's talk about something else for a while."

You can, in a kind and loving way, tell her the truth. You have your own faith and beliefs and you not want her trying to change your religion. You can tell her that God expects us to spread the good news and she's done that but it is up to God to change hearts and its time for her to let go...and let God.

Tell her you will get a witch friend from YA to put a hex on her if she doesn't stop...you won't actually have to do that but she won't know the diff ... it will probably make her call you a sinner but then she'll stop the proselytising ..works like a charm...no pun intended.
