i straighten my hair and i always tie it back and sometimes put it down

Personally, I don't mind it either way, if you are happy with the way it looks.. I am happy. UP, down tied back, short long, wavy, straight, braided, colored, permed, I like it all.

I'm going to college for animation and what not, i personally like to study the specular highlights in the hair, so down is good.

well it depends on the situation, if its pretty casual, the hair down is fine, if its a formal setting, hair down is ok but hair up, maybe like a bun looks real nice, i think it looks sexy

Depends on what type of your hairs. Are they straight, aren't they? You should put them down.

I don't like one better than the other. What -->IS<-- important to me is, I think it's sexy when I see that a girl that does it both ways for different occasions.

I have few criteria for girls I date, and one of them is that she has her own hair (no wigs, extentions, etc.), and that it's her natural color, and in a natural position.
Your hair is fine.
