I like (hate, really) "swimming the deck". You lay on the floor on your stomach. Put your arms straight out in front of you, palms down. Keep your legs straight, with the tops of your feet touching the floor.

Then, while you're counting to ten, wave your hands and feet about 6 inches off the floor (flexing at the shoulders and hips only), without letting them touch, almost as if you were swimming. Your hands & feet should be moving fairly fast - not necessarily at the same rate as your counting.

Do the ten-count six or eight times, and you'll feel it for sure!

Crunches and push-ups are both good exercises, but only for "shaping up." If you're looking to shed some weight or lose the extra flab on the stomach, ab workouts will NOT help. It's just a myth that ab and lower back workouts help you get thinner. The only way they'll help is if they's paired with a low-calorie diet and arobic exercising atleast 30 minutes a day.

for abs
lay on back
lift and bend legs so your knees are comfotably above your waist
(the hard part) pull your butt off the ground
do a sit up, not a full range one, just enough to get the your shoulders off the ground

once that gets too easy use a bunji like cord to pull with your hands while you do it

for low back
lay on belly
pretend to swim, keep your head down or you will hurt your neck
you can switch that up alot by alternating arms and what not
