Lotion. Oil is too messy.

If it's just for daily skin application then I would say lotion but oil (especially hot oil) is very nice for those special occasions!

Oil is too messy and takes longer to absorb. I prefer lotion.

Depends on the kind of oil and/or lotion.Quality is most important! Almond or olive oil is good, and I like Aveeno lotion.
