Well, first of all --- 666 is the sign of the devil.
Second of all, not all of us were under the impression that today was going to be the end of everything!
I am a Christian, and I've never read into (interpreted) the whole 666 thing representing a date on the calendar.
I do believe however that Bible prophecies are being fulfilled, and the answers being given here prove my point:
First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 2 Peter 3:3 (NV)
They said to you, "In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires." Jude 1: 18 (NIV)
...so whether you want to admitt it or not, the attitudes of some people here are a good indication of how Prophecy is being fulfilled. And on top of that, it also says the day and hour aren't known when the Son of God will return...so why waste time trying to figure out dates on the calendar???
