I think a small simple backyard wedding could be quite elegant. Try doing alot of things yourself. Eg. the invitations could be printed on your home computer buy the kit from craft stores, you could approach friends/family that might be interested in helping. Have something that is talented with baking make your cake, purchase your dress at an auction or at a store's sample sale etc. Just get creative and you will find plenty of ways to save money.

Well, you already had a wedding if you're married. To do it again would be redundant. How long ago did you get married? If it's been a long time, it would be dumb IMO to have a reception now. If it was recently, maybe a small celebratory dinner.
However, as I reread your post, I see you married without a ceremony. What did you do, just sign papers? If so, or if it was a civil wedding, maybe you want to get married in a religious ceremony now, which would not be redundant, and would make sense.
You can keep it small and informal, perhaps outdoor, dessert only, immediate family and best friends only, do the food yourself,
afternoon wedding and high tea - tea, coffee, little sandwiches, tarts in the garden or living room. Clergy's office and then go out for pizza. Potluck (and no gifts).

For our wedding, we had our closest family and friends meet together on a local beach where my step-mom married us. I bought flowers from Albertsons and some nice ribbon and made my own bouquet. I put flowers in my hair and just wore a simple white sun dress. We did it barefoot and everyone just wore the same colors. The only thing that cost big money was the dinner that we paid for - that ended up being about $400 - but if someone makes dinner or you do a potluck, you could save all of that money. It was so intimate and beautiful, it was MUCH better than a huge wedding ever could've been.

My own cheap wedding consisted of silk flowers and make your bouquets yourself, only cake and punch at the reception (you can find an individual to make your cake for cheaper than professional, advertise in the paper or ask around), if you belong to a church most will let you have the ceremony for free, I had my reception in the fellowship hall and that saved money there, David's Bridal is ALWAYS having sales on wedding dresses, or you can find a good prom dress even that would work, we put garland around the altar and bought the unity candle from Hobby Lobby. If you ask for help, plenty of people will join in, weddings don't have to be expensive at all, especially if you do it yourself.

Dollar stores are your friend for things for your guests. A lot of people are straying away from having programs printed for their wedding. Also, shop around for a reasonable location. tell them how much money you have to spend on location and see what kind of deal they can get you. Maybe having the small wedding at home or something would be cheaper. Also, when shopping for the dress, check out a sears outlet or something. I know a girl who got her wedding dress on a sale rack for $50 and it looked great!! Also, instead of paying for a DJ at a dance, my neighbour just put all the songs on their laptop and it played throughout the nigh without paying some DJ the big bucks. Just be creative and shop around for deals!! use your imagination for decorations! a family friend didn't have a cake at their wedding. They had the tiered platform and got white cupcakes with flowers and set around it. it looked really nice! Congratulations

I had a small, cheap wedding too and it was great and so much fun! We got married at a little wedding chapel in niagara falls for like $250. we had the reception at my parents house. backyard weddings are your best bet. my mom made the food herself which saved alot on the meal, we had a cake made at a bakery for like $25 and you could make your own flowers of get some made for fairly cheap at a small flower shop. just keep in mind that everything you need for the wedding, you could probably do yourself for half the price. best of luck to you with your wedding and with getting pregnant!

A small wedding in your home with just enough family to be witnesses would lovely. My cousin got married last year and it was really nice. She didn't spend a lot of money but it was really sweat. Always remember that its your day and you can have it anyway you want. Something simple but memorable.

If you are already married, have a small reception someplace. If you want it to be nice and not just an obligation for your guests, focus on spending your money on food and wine rather than trinkets and games. : )
