How is "believe in me or you will burn forever in hell", how is that tolerant? Where do you people get that idea from?

Let's get one thing straight here. It is not believing in Him that is key. Anyone can believe He existed. His Name is all over historic and religious writings. It is believing that He died, perfect, on a cross for our sins that is key.

Yes, you need to believe that He is the Son of God in order to go to Heaven. That is the only way to be able to believe that He led a perfect life and was able to die for our sins. It is a simple request from our loving Father in Heaven. That is the only thing He wants from us, His wayward children. Other than that belief of Christ as our Savior, it is a completely free gift of salvation.

Think of every bad thing you have ever done. Now multiply that by four. That is about how many things you have really done wrong, as we all tend to forget our own shortcomings. Now just take just ONE of those things and put it on a list. For that one sin, you or I would deserve punishment in Hell. Now put all of the sins back on your list. Look really hard. Every one of them has been taken care of by Christ's death. God will accept each of us into heaven just because we have asked Jesus to forgive us, just because we believe He already has. If that is not tolerance, I do not know what is.

Im a christian (catholic) and I wounder the same thing. I mean God was gona destroy the jews, after they built the golden calf at the end of exodus. I think Jesus was tolarant in the way that he was like "If they denie you because of me kick the dust from your shoes" he said this when he sent the deciples out. I dont think Jesus would approve of us cramming our views done your throats...

i think what he said was believe me, in reference to his teachings. he was the son of God. he lived. he died for you and me. he asked for forgiveness for those that crucified him. my friend if you beat me and sentenced me to death the last thing i would do is pray for you. he was the very definition of tolerant!
