try Smuckers no sugar added Jam regular Jam is loaded with unnecessary sugars. Also try Rye or whole wheat bread as opposed to white which is not the best for you not to mention unnatural. Light PB is great and is a good source of protein and will keep you full for a long period of time!

It just depends on what you are doing to work it off. Technically you would need to take into consideration your height/weight, calories you intake now, recent gain/loss, how much you exercise now, and what else you are eating. A peanut butter and jelly sandwhich is what, 400 calories? No, it is not that that is preventing your not losing weight. I hope you are eating AT LEAST 1200 calories a day, if not, your body might be in reserve calorie mode. Wheat bread actually is worse in many cases than white bread, it just has some good stuff in there for you as well. There are better lunches to eat for a similar cost, check into the soup at hands by Campbells, just be careful of the sodium that you eat on the same day as that. Most people end up intaking more calories than they think they do. Seriously, take a good look at how many calories you intake most days. EVERYTHING including the milk you drink, soda, Snickers bar, whatever. You might find the PB&J to be the least of your worries. If you don't know what the nutritional facts are for something, don't eat it. Especially fast food... your best bets there are Subway and Taco Bell.

Switch to 100% whole wheat bread. Brands can be deceiving. Not all wheat breads are 100% whole wheat. Read the labels. Depending on what kind of jelly your using it can contain loads of sugar. And even the reduced fat PB is high in calories. I think you only save something like 10cals per serving with the reduced fat. I believe most PB's are 190 cal's per serving which is about 2 tbsp. That's a lot of calories. I agree with the person on here you suggested a white meat sandwich. The best is probably chicken or turkey breast.

I don't think so.
I've been eating a PB & J and loosing weight (my husband works for Smuckers so we always are getting free stuff). I use the reduced fat, or natural pb, along with sugar free jelly.
Also, we have the uncrustables sitting around. In a pinch I'll use those. They are great because they're portion controlled. They even make them in wheat bread.
Which makes me think it could be a fiber thing. Are you using a high fiber bread? Or, a white starchy bread? If a white bread switch to a high fiber one - Wonder Bread makes a good white high fiber bread so does Sarah Lee.

There is a lot of calories in peanut butter. Try a white meat low fat turkey sandwich on whole grain bread.

You can't just look at one thing in your diet. To be healthy, you need to look at the entire diet. Don't eat fast food or processed foods, they are just bad. Exercise is very important. If you are serious about being healthy, then see a nutritionist or find a copy of Turn up the Heat by Philip L. Goglia. It has really helped me a lot. Oh, drink a lot of water. Stay away from sodas, beer, ice cream, etc. Being healthy ain't easy, but it's worth it in the long run.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
Get started today!

Are you working out as well? And what else do you eat? PB&J's are good.. A good way to eat it and make it better is to use one peach of bread. Put PB on the bottom and Jelly on top of the PB and eat it like its tost and jelly. That way you don't have the extra peace of bread.

peanut butter is good for you in the sense that it has good protein levels... but it is also high in saturated fat...
however one sandwhich a day should not be why you cant lose weight....
what else are you eating? exercise? what do you drink? when do you eat? how long before bedtime, etc...?

Full of sugar!! And all of that bread, too many carbs...so yes. If money is an issue, try non sweetened jelly or jam, carb solutions peanut butter, and carb smart bread.
