So will it get rid of the windows XP and will i have to go out and buy windows XP if i do do a FULL SYSTEM RECOVERY?? Thanks

If you bought it brand new and it had XP on it then the Full Recovery wil bring it back to the way it was when you bought it...with XP on it. If you've installed XP since you bought it then you will have to reinstall XP.

Have a great day.

I do not have the disk either. My windows XP, was already loaded on my computer, when I bought it. These instructions, will clean everything off of your hard drive, so you must back up anything that you want to save. I have done this three times, and I got these instructions, from a compaq tech. When starting your computer, tap the F-10 key. click on next-yes-and follow the instructions, that come up on your screen. When you are finished, your computer, will look just like it did, when you first bought it.Do these steps, in order, when finished.
1. set up windows firewall
2. windows update (click express)
3. install your anti-virus program (update)
4. install anti-spyware (update)
This is called a "system recovery"

If you have the recovery CD you will be able to get it working the way it was working when you bought it, otherwise if you don't have the recovery CD it will be the same way you have it now. I had the same problem. My Compaq crashed and now it doesn't have an operating system. Compaq's suck. My advice would be to purchase a new computer. If I were you I would purchase a Dell computer. Dell computers are the best.

if you ggot a recovery cd, then it will restore it to new condition just like you bought it, if it has system recovery, on the harddrive it will do the same, full system recovery means if retores it to the condition it was in when you first turned it on
