Just because we are different races does not mean we are different species. We are all one species, there are just some adaptations that are made due to environment.

That's easy because someone the other day said that evolution says that the higher we attain on the evolutionary scale the more acceptable homosexuality is - well, as peole live closer to the equator they are undoubtedly going to draw more pigmentation to the surface of their skin than people who don't, so as homosexuality increased and populations became extinct then those that were left had to move into places that they were not accustomed to, take the women for a time, repopulate, and while some went one way, others went others way and now we have a whole world of different races - makes about as much sense to me as the theory of evolution does - I sitll say now that I've become so enlightened as to how wrong I have been in my Christian way of thinking that we should all practice homosexuality, leading to extinction of mankind and therefore, we would not have to worry over global warming, fuel usage, wars, adultery, marriage definitions, God, religions, or much of anything else - we'd be extinct - at least if I understood the explanation correctly as it was given the other day - and I'm sure I did or I would not still be finding myself having to pray for that person's hardness of heart - it did enlighten me as to why the animal kindgom would experience extinction if they evolved and naturally became homosexual in their behavior the higher intelligent they became on the evolutionary scale.

we have to keep in mind that with us being different races, assuming that Adam and Eve were the ACTUAL beginning being, in this great big world, there are different continents where very different countries developed over the centuries and centuries of time. the general idea or theory of evolution includes people evolving from ape like creatures... not Adam and Eve as the parents of all, as it were. however, we as people have had to adapt to our various regions, thus, assisting in the creation on various races.

Why are there people on here who keep claiming we've stopped evolving? There's no such thing as not evolving, as it is a PROCESS and not an EVENT. The evolving that happens on a larger scale takes place over millions of years. So we are still evolving, we just cannot see it because of our limited lifespan.

Also, one could argue that adaptation is a form of evolution, just on a smaller scale.

Sorry I didn't really answer your question, but after reading a few of these answers, it really started to bug me. Evolution isn't spontaneous, people.

Evolution stopped ; poppycock if I ever did here it.

Evolution is the accidental genetic mutation of a gene that propogates itself in an environment. The mutation itself does not have to be 'better' than what it was before but if it is the case that survival in a enviromnent would be greater with that mutation then it is kept. This means that following mutations are not accidental but deliberate. Im terms of genes for race and skin colour this is basic genetics which im sure you are aware of, remember two black people can actually produce a white child but it doesnt work the other way around.

Just a thought if I ate nothing but blueberries would I eventually turn blue?

When Adam and Eve had kids and they had kids and so forth they moved to different areas that had different environments. The people had to adapt to the environments over time, creating different races. I really don't know, but I think this makes sense.

ev·o·lu·tion

A gradual process in which something changes into a different and usually more complex or better form.
Change in the genetic composition of a population during successive generations, as a result of natural selection acting on the genetic variation among individuals, and resulting in the development of new species.

ad·ap·ta·tion

(Biology) An alteration or adjustment in structure or habits, often hereditary, by which a species or individual improves its condition in relationship to its environment.
(Physiology) The responsive adjustment of a sense organ, such as the eye, to varying conditions, such as light intensity.

Two different things. Various races is not the same as different species.

I do not believe that evolution is false. What I do believe is that God created everything and it is possible that He did it through the process of evolution. I'm guessing when I say I think people had to adapt to their environment which caused the different races.

First of all, Adam and Eve were the first people but Noah and his family were the only people to survive the flood. Noah had 3 sons who each went different ways. One went to Asia, one to Europe and one to Africa. These sons and their wives were the forefathers of the races we see today. it is obvious that people who live in siberia and the arctic would have pale skin and africans would have dark skin simply because of their time in the sun.
