The people that came out and "marched" for amnesty or immigration reform or what ever they marched for...where are they now? Why aren't they hitting the streets this week or next? I mean schools are out so they don't have to worry about missing class? Why aren't they protesting any more?

Because every time they block streets with their Latin Americian flags they lose support for their position.

Some are. They had a protest in Michigan yesterday etc. However, another was canceled due to low turn out. I think the illegal immigrant supporters with brains figured out that it was creating much more of a backlash than it was helping their cause.

Sensenbrenner, the House Bill sponsor called the May 1 marches 'an impressive show of force' for example...

Hopefully, packing their bags and moving back to Mexico, where the problem REALLY is? I have no problems with mexican people, or hispanics, but at the same time the 'gimme gimme gimme' thing is past its' 'use by' date. Even the republicans that benefited by pandering to the hispanic vote and made lots of promises about how things will all work out and that having mexicans move in en masse are starting to wake up and go 'hey, did you say 200 BILLION?!?!?!?! lol.Maybe they finally got a good deal on calculator batteries, or something.

Mexico needs reform, and America needs a good strong cup of coffee and some 'hangover helper' pills...

Now that the Department of Immigration has pictures of them all, La Migra is slowly locating them one by one and putting them in the back of a van and driving them to the border( or ?).
It's gotten around the barrio and everyone is laying low. But La Migra will get them. They have pictures ...especially of those ejos who raised the American Flag upside down below the Mexican flag. Los estudiantes malas. They are going to have to stay after school for the rest of their lives.
Ejolay!
It's good they all came out for La Migra to see who they were ...now El Gobenerno can have what will be needed to deport los hentes.

Have you seen some of the immigration proposals on capitol hill... some calling to make them all citizens... it would appear that they aren't protesting anymore because it looks like they may get what they want...

There is no need to protest anything that gives you what you want...

Maybe they noticed that no one really cared? That the economy didn't exactly take a hit when they all didn't show up for work that day? That kids still got taught at school even with the absence of so many of them?

They are sick, realizing we don't need them here. We have people to work, we will not work for slave laborers that don't want to pay. They realized keeping their children out of school would let the government see how much money we saved that day.

The main reason many high school students participated was to get out of school, IMHO.
