Tell your brother that his question doesn't make sense. Why did he dump someone if he still liked him/her?

If you really liked them, then you should not have dumped them.
You need to deal with it and go on, or talk to this person and beg for forgiveness.

If you were dumped, remind yourself alot, of positive concequences. like you're gonna meet alot of new, and different people, you will like alot of them.
If you did the dumping, keep being a jerk.
