Bulldogs are great dogs, but they need more special attention than most breeds. I would advise you to research the specific breed before you make any decisions.

I live in Louisiana and we do not have any problems with the heat because a bulldog should NEVER be left outside!!!

GREAT DOGS! just be informed before you decide

I actually own a French bulldog and yes even the smaller of the bulldogs comes with many health issues. If you are willing to invest quite a bit of money then by all means get yourself a bulldog. But consider maybe a rescue group or shelter believe it or not I adopted my dog from a shelter a pure breed papered French Bulldog reason being why she was be relinquished by her previous owners major allergies and skin infections with this dog.Luckily I work for a veterinary hospital and can provide the care she needs.

My bulldog is definitely worth all the fuss, but depending on where you live in AZ, you should consider another breed--bulldogs cannot handle heat above 80 degrees!!

English bulldogs are nice dogs, but for the expense and health problems I would recommend an American Bulldog. They do not have the ehalth issues as the others, and are able to whelp a litter op pups without having a c-section. Mine are very bully looking even at seven weeks. My dogs are pets, we are not puppy mill. You can email me if you would like more information, and I have references available. No_Bull_ABs@yahoo.com

We absoulutely love our bulldog. He was very easy to train. The only problem we have is that he can't be outside in the summer very long, and he does get short of breath fast.He plays great with our pit bull terrier except gets tired faster than she. We purchased ours for $2,000. He is now 5 yrs old and he has basically paid for himself. He is purebreed and we breed him for $500 each time. Get a hold of your local vet to see if they know of anyone who breeds bulldogs to purchase one. That will be your best bet.

As a breed, they seem nice enough, but they are prone to several health problems. (As are all pure bred dogs.) The most common problems I have seen are related to the skin, such as allergies, ear problems, etc. Because of the shape of their skull, they are also prone to other conditions, such as small nostrils, an elongated soft palate, and a smaller than normal trachea. They tend to snore. Orthpedically, they can have bad hips, and you have to be very careful with their weight. If you really are interested in the breed, research. Then research breeders really well.

Keep your dog on leash until you enter your own apartment and seek the services of a reputable, word of mouth recommended behaviourist. The breed club can probably recommend someone.

They are great dogs but they have a very short life span and some have severe health issues. If you like bulldogs please consider your local rescue centers in your area.

Absoultuely not, they are extremely food aggressive. go to your local shelter, there are many faces to choose from. A bully's health problems will also cost you a mint.
