why do guys spit on the sidewalk, it is so disgusting?

It is part of being a guy, which is: we dont care what others think or say about us.. we will do what we want, when we want and where we want. I can see that it can be tough for a girl to understand this mentality, but remember we are guys, not girls.. we think differently.

Its not that we spit on sidewalks intentionally, we pretty much spit wherever we stand, within limits, (we wont spit on the floor of a building or on the carpet of someones home). When we are outside we would spit on the grass, but the grass just may be too far away for our spit to reach it. And we don't possess the "want to" to walk to a patch of grass just to spit when there is a perfectly good slab of concrete there. And if there is grass on both sides of the sidewalk, then we are just too lazy to turn our heads. We just spit in the direct our head is facing, it just happens to be in the direction of the sidewalk.

It's not only men who spit on the sidewalk. But it is certainly a disgusting habit and I think there is a $ fine for it in most cities.

Spitting was a trend POPULARIZED by hockey, baseball, and soccer players. They spit because they think they're "cool"

It could because they over salvate, they are using chew, allergies, etc.

Also alot of guys do it because they think it makes them look cool, like smoking, its like hey look at me do whatever i want and I don't give a ****, I am such a badass. That is pretty lame.
