Ummm, he might be teased. i knew a boy name Damien, and boy was he the devil! Anyway, I think if you tell your son before hand about his name then he'll be fine. I hope he's a sweet 1 year old angel! Happy Belated Birthday Damien!

Actually the Omen came out in 1976. The remake is coming out today (6/6/06). Your son is only a year old. It's not like people are going to let their children watch these movies anyway (we hope). But even if your son isn't teased for his name, he'll get teased for something else at some point in his school career. That's just the way kids are.

Nah.. The omen is actually a very old movie and has been remade severl times. I knew about the movie and knew a couple of kids named Damien and never even put the two together. Although with the new and upcoming movie there may be a little teasing because kids are just mean like that. It is a nice name though

I think in another 3 months the whole 666 Omen thing will be a distant memory. By then people will probably be wondering if Brad and Angelina's daughter was part of an arranged marriage with the son of an African Chieftain. Your son will be fine and his name will cause him no harm.

the omen comes back out today. I doubt he will be made fun of. Damian is a beautiful name. He has nothing to worry about.

I believe the boy in "The Omen" name is Damon so it's different than your son.

Kids won't even remember about the movie by the time he goes to school. I would worry about him getting teased about a hundred other things before I would worry about his name.

by that time few kids will even remember...unless of course they come home from school and tell mommy or daddy that they have a new friend called Damien Christian ...wanna bet mommy and daddy are the problem? "Oh you can't play with him...he's the spawn of satan"

Of course I don't have any issue with it at all but wait til the "God Warriors" get a hold of you ...you "whore of Babylon" ;-)

just call him damn-- for short--that will get around it--
but -in truth-- he must have a middle name--u can switch it to that--if you are uncomfortable saying it-- it will show-he will be self concious- -and won't say his nname aloud--
people--if they wanted-could of teased my name--ane for awhilre my folks changed it to a middle name which was easier for most-- but i changed IT BACK AFTER A YEar-- i was proud of my name-
so-- if you can teach your son -to be proud-and not be offended and fall for taunts- he;ll beat them down- i did--but there are tricks-- he must not shortenten his name until he owns it-- he canj-t say d or damoi AND THE LIKE--actually i think its strong name--if you apologise once for his name or say sorry-- iyts over--my mother loved my name--but was worried about me and taunts---if she had been ashamed it would of beeb different or embarassed--she always kept saying to family and bringing it up--so when i changed- idid right in mid school-made all the teachyers say it and the stubdents took 6 months- but my mom was happy and i was proud--oh my name is not that bad-- people can just make fun of it-- its sebastian-- easy--but whan you are in a class of a lot of toughs name tom dick and harry-- you get a llttle-borhered- i ignored- said don;t matter-- its my name--don't like it-don't care--- it made me stronger --personaly - just teach your son pride--and the story of why you chose the name-- let him own it-- make it his-- AND SELF RESPECT- let him be it and choose it for his --its your gift to him--the name--and once its his-really his---no one can or ever will take it away from him--he will be damian-and proud-just him the reasons--simply even if its because you love the sound -like my mother did--the movie will fade away-- iT'S A very GOOD NAME

i like the name. 'sides, people will have forgotten about the movie by the time they're old enough to start teasing about stuff like that.
