And they use meat-contaminated utensils to stir the veggies, and they taste the food and then stick the spoon right back in the pot. Shouldn't they, of all people, be emphasizing sanitary food processing habits?

I SAW the Galloping Gourmet guy lick his fingers and resume cooking. AND towels spread bacteria.(you should dry them with paper towels) AND I demand that hands be washed before, during and after cooking, especially with raw meat. I taste test too, but I'd never stick a spitty spoon back in the food! AND people with long hair like mine need to tie it back.

I've wondered about that myself. It does seem that they'd be in the ideal position to promote food safety of all kinds.

How many times would you recommend they wash them? I'm assuming they wash them prior to starting and during commercial breaks if needed and wipe them on the towel hanging from their belt as needed..... Cooking (utilizing heat) kills the "meat contaminated?" germs on the utensils. Tasting and sticking the spoon back in? Are you gonna be tasting it too? Worried you'll catch a cold? I doubt that anyone actually eating the show cooked meal has complained.

I imagine they wash their hands before the show starts. You normally don't see them picking their @ss and adding "special ingredients" to the sauce. And if you lick the spoon and stick it back in the pot, it's cool, the germs boil away.
