I think all my finals are 20% of the total grade, so I guess the rest is 80% of everything. How could I see the lowest I could get to keep my grade AND how could I see the highest grade possible? Thanks

1. add up all the points possible for the class
2. add up the points you earned
3. Divide the points earned by the points possible... that is your percentage/ grade!

Suppose your goal is a 90% overall and you currently have 95%.

Total grade = (80% * current grade) + (20% * X).
X= grade on finals
Substitute your desired total grade in and current grade and solve for X:
90= 0.80 * 95 + 0.20 X
X=70

You can substitute another current or desired total grade.

--------
Your best possible grade is (0.80 * current grade) + (0.20 * 100 on the finals)

Grab a calculator, Get your other two grades, and add them twice... Example:

81+81+85+85

Then on the last one add your semester final. Example:

81+81+85+85+91=423

So then divide 423 by 5...

And your average is 84.6%. There you go!
