too much of some fish can lead to a mercury accumulation because the ocean is so contaminated but you would have to eat an awful amount - you are not a seal are you?

You need to watch out for high mercury levels in fish. Tuna can be contaminated. Make sure that the fish you eat is wild and preferably been tested for mercury. lol And in response to the answer from Holy Knight: tuna has omega 3 fatty acids - not omega 4 - and there are many other sources such as salmon, mackeral, sardines, and krill.

it is not bad, but the habbit of eating that stuff is bad. Because chance of food poisoning can happen. So much good food out there to actually replace canned tuna in you diet. I myself stopped eating canned tuna or canned fish because I decided to treat myself better-- this thirty years remaining in my life. And the oil that is included in canned tuna, that is the not-so-good part. Indirectly canned tuna will cause comlications in your health. I aint no doctor, but I feel like a scholar on this topic.

No. The more Omega-4 it contains, the better it is for you. Since Tuna has the highest, if not only Omega-4 around....it is definitely safe.

No. It's a good source of protein and other essential vitamins and minerals. I eat a can every day. If you are trying to build muscle it's a source of protein without all the fat of red meats.

If you eat to much you can get mercury (?) poisoning. You are only supposed to have like 2 servings a week. Two servings would be one can.
