All kids are picky. You have to see what they like and serve a varity of the same food with the other foods hidden in there. My
two year old does not like fish but she loves mash potatoes, so I debone the fish, crush it and hide it in the potatoes. She eats every single spoon. She loves watching Dora. So if she doesn't eat at least half her vegetables, I say well you cannot visit Dora on the T.v. today. She will eat every single piece of carrot. The trick is not to over feed them and don't give them junk just before super time. Also you need to know what punishments and rewards to use where food is concerned. Food is important and has to be treated as such. If you wait too late to train the child, you will be the looser because you are the one who will be running to the hopital each time for one illness or they other if they are not nutritionally sound.

I have a two and half year old, and a thirteen year old, they never grow out of the pickiness! I will let my daughter (the two year old)pick what she wants to eat, but I'm lucky she loves fruits and vegetables! Kids are simple, hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, don't try too hard. And if your child is totally uncompromising, I've heard great things about pedialyte flavored juices, so at least you'll know she's good on her nutrution. Another thing about my daughter is, if I push something (new for her to try) she'll resist even more.

You should be picky in giving him the food he chooses. Make sure it is healthy. If you don't he will not eat and be very skinny. My younger brother was like that until my mother noticed that he is picky on food. So she prepared different food for him around age 5. 23 years later he is a big tall young man.

Younger kids like to be picky about different things as a ploy for attention. They know that if they fuss about certain things, they'll get the parents' attention. You'll have to discipline your child to avoid picky habits. Convince him that the foods are good, eat a bite yourself. Don't give in to kicking and screaming, or by giving him what it is he wants. Tell him that this is his meal, and if he doesn't want to eat it he must not be hungry. It's not really harsh punishment, I grew up under this method. Inform him that if he's hungry later you'll heat up his leftover dinner. In time he'll learn to go with the flow.

At two years old don't panic, give your child small portions don't overload them at that age. Most little kids love tiny morsels...that they can pick up with their fingers. If you cut everything in cubes it will be more attractive and easy for your child to eat. Make it colorful like carrots, green beans and corn. Do the same with meat cut into small bites. At this age they are really discovering different tastes and keep the flavors plain not spicy. Buy some cute plates at the "dollar store"...and cups to match...to make eating fun and a bib to match....don't rush the child to eat.....and fuss over them..let him be in a relaxed atmosphere all these things add up to a more pleasant eating time for everyone.....Best of luck with your little one!

I think most 2 year olds are picky eaters. Mine certainly was. I worried too, but he grew out of it. Don't worry, they won't starve...just give them good choices (not junk food) and it will be fine.

Play with food. I'm sure both of you will have a great time. Decorate the food. add color. use your imagination, when you are 2 everything can work. try to eat with him and tell him stories about the food. Like Popeye is very strong because he eat spinach, the carrots are good for your vision and make you jump like a bunny. Imagination.

My 18-month-old tends to be picky as well. I limit his choices to two or three so he doesn't think he can just keep sampling things until he finds one he likes. He eats when he's hungry.

That's normal. Just keep on offering him different foods. Kids are ALL picky and they rarely starve themselves to death!
