Could this be why so many have trouble believing? Shouldn’t truth be truth absolute?

Absolute truth is the concept of the BIBLE, but as with a lot of other things man got in there and twisted things to HIS liking.
The BIBLE says what it says, plain and simple.
I'm a Christian Pastor and I don't understand all of it.

Yes, Christians scholars twist the Bible according to thier own beliefs. I will you give you a simple Example which will clear for as how Christians scholars are playing with the Bible...

If you read a verse of John 1:1
In the Begining was the Word, the Word was with God and the Word was God....

Christians always use this verse to prove the divinity of the Jesus Christ.. Now... just look down...

The actual greek word used for God is "Theos" and the first God used in the John 1:1 is "Ho Theos" and the second God used is "Ton Theos"..... The difference between "Ho Theos" and "Ton Theos" is the difference between Chalk & Cheese.

"Ho Theos" means The God, i.e. God with capital G and "Ton Theos" means God with small g. I will rewrite the verse and see the difference...

In the Begining was the Word, the Word was with God and the Word was god (or godly)....

In greek there are no capital G's and small g's so how come Bible translators use Capital G's and small g's at will. Doesn't it prove that they are trying to cheat somebody, they have an inovated idea in the back of their mind and they use that idea to translate the Bible...

Finally i will say that the verse in John 1:1 was firstly used decades before John by a philospher named Phylo in his book which John palgerised in his Gospel...

Everything is twisted in Christianity and Catholicism (no offense to anyone). What the hell are priests doing molesting little boys? This has been going on for years, and was taken care of by keeping it quiet and moving the priest to another church. What the hell does molestation have to do with God and church? Everybody in this world is all screwed up in some way. People will twist the bible into whatever they want. Wether it's the word of the Lord or not, it's sure isn't what it used to be.

"Armies of Bible scholars and theologians have for centuries found respected employment devising artful explanations of the Bible often not really meaning what it says."
J.S. Bullion, Jr.

According to the World Christian Encyclopedia, there are 33,830 different Christian denominations in the world. This is a direct result of this "twisting" of the Bible to comply with what they WANT it to say, instead of just reading what it DOES say, thereby creating a myriad of rifts in "the body of Christ".

It would seem to me that an omnipotent, omniscient deity would be able to write a much less confusing book if he really wanted to communicate his will to humans. Paul says, in 1 Corinthians 14:33, that "God is not the author of confusion". So how could he have had anything at all to do with the writing of the most confusing book ever published?

Yes, I do. I think alot of christians take many verses and quotes completly out of context, as long as these misrepresentations work to their advantage at the time. I'm not saying all christians do this, so please don't all of you get your undies in a bunch. And as for absolute truth, no one knows what the Bible says for sure any more, it has been rewritten so many times to suit so many egos. How can one have absolute truth, if the absolute truth is not known?

no longer on all matters. Why no longer? because of the fact there is not any such ingredient as a ethical regularly occurring which anybody consents to. Morality is our consensus on issues we could constantly and shouldn't do. the considerable be conscious there is could. there is not any way of rapidly determining an ought from an is without some degree of opinion, so no morality will ever be agreed upon by technique of all. working example, at what age could a man or woman be allowed to vote, have intercourse, drink alcohol (if in any respect) or smoke? while is it no longer alright to have an abortion? could there be a discern head of the church? those are all merely differing evaluations on issues we could constantly and shouldn't do.

Truth is absolute and that is exactly what many people do - that is why relativism has become such a "byword" - it does away with truth being truth and lies being lies. However, the real question then is are they Christians if they are willing to abuse God's word so carelessly? It is not for me to judge but it does cause me to pray for those who no longer find that it is absolute in its truth.

There is ultimately only one truth, and it is found in Gods Son Jesus Christ. The Bible simply points the way to Jesus.

We are all on our own paths to righteousness, and we all make mistakes, so people who twist scripture to their own ends are simply in a different place than some others might be.

There are over 10,000 unique Christian cults in the US alone.

It is obvious people interpret the bible to suit their own purposes. Otherwise, there would only be one bible based religion.
