You will probably find that in a few weeks you will be complaining about the opposite thing. My son is a very good eater most of the time but sometimes he may go a week or two not eating much at all. I think its probably just a phase, try not to make a big deal out of it as if he gets extra attention by not eating it may drag on longer and longer. If it lasts more than a few weeks then i would suggest taking him to a doctor to make sure everything is OK. A child at my mothers group has never really eaten anything much and her mum stresses about it constantly, the child is perfectly healthy and she is also the tallest child in her class. Children will not starve themselves, they will eat when they are hungry.
Good Luck and i Hope i have made you feel a little better!

My Nephew who is now 4 ate very little, he also snored a lot when he would sleep, hang on this does go together. When she took him to the doctor for a regular visit the doctor noticed that his tonsils were very swollen. The doctor also said that, that is why he doesn't eat very much, it is to much of an effort for him to swallow. He had them removed when he was three, He now eats better, he has some meat on his bones now he used to be a walking stick, and of course he doesn't snore anymore either.
So I think you should take him to the doctor because it could be other issues, but ask about his tonsils.

This is actually normal for children that age - their appetite changes, and they don't want to sit still that long.I was that way at that age, and so was my daughter. The dr reccomended to fix finger foods that the child can come back and eat on it when they want to.it is good to try and promote "family " time at dinner time at the table, but dont force the child to eat when they dont want to. the only time i'd get concerned is if the child starts to lose more than a couple pounds.but try the finger foods and see what happens :)

I have four children and they all went through that stage. They are going so rapidly in their infant stage that they need to eat a lot. By the time your child is three, his growth has slowed and he needs less food. Wouldn't it be nice if all adults did the same thing--since we have all stopped growing. We'd save a lot of money and all look great! If you are worried, see the doc, but I think it is just normal.

well, i assume because he has a small stomache, and maybe before he could never tell when he was full. He probably realised that when he ate everything and anything all the time, he got a stomache ache. since he, i'm pretty sure, doesnt like stomache aches, he's trying to prevent getting one by just eating until he's full (subconsiciously of course). that's my opinion.

You need to take him to a doctor. It's not healthy for a child of that age, who probably has a fairly high metabolism, to be eating so little.

He may have acid reflux. Definately take him to the doctor. It might be something serious, and he probably isn't getting proper nutrition.
