A better question would be how can you get yourself to accept her for what she is and concentrate on her positive aspects instead of complaining about something so petty.

you can't, your wife communicates in her way, she did it when you met her, when you said you love her and when you married her and now you don't want to be bothered with listening so you want her to take less of your time. pretty crappy thing to even ask if you are claiming to care about her. she probably does it because she doesn't feel like she's being heard or that you are getting her point, and from the sounds of it you aren't and she isn't so she's right. keep up your atttitude about it and its very likely that you'll hear something short and sweet like...i want a divorce or i found someone that will listen to me or perhaps just GOOD BYE!

Just ask her to be quick and to the point. If she enjoys telling the whole story in detail and you are pressed for time just tell her nicely that you are pressed for time and need the amended version.
Taking time to talk to your wife and hear her is important, so listen to what she has to say - even if it's long winded.

I would be more subtle.
Make a big deal about other people being so concise and how nice that is and how it shows high intelligence. Perhaps get her a book that is written by a particularly concise writer and rave about how to the point it is.
Then on rare occasion when she gets to the friggin point, praise her and point it out to other people.

Be straight up with her and tell her that you would like to understand what is being said instead of getting lost while hearing everything. But say it in a nice and soft way so she doesnt think that youre not interested anymore

Women can't talk like that too men. Men don't take the time to stop an listen. The best thing to do is when she's talking is to stop and look at her. She's worth the time!

I think that there is not changing anyone. She probaly is a wonderful story teller and you as her husband and biggest fan should appriciate her for who she really is. I know that you would want the same from her.

hahahaha... good luck with that one. If you guys ever should split up, maybe we can hook her up with my dad and they can spend the rest of their lives telling each other what would take normal people to tell a 5 minute story...
