That might seem like a really harsh question. Would you feel the same way if you lived in Isreal? Amadinahad, the new leader, has made open statements on Iranian TV that "Isreal should be wiped off the map." They were also a problem back in 1980 when they took American hostages. The USA is too chicken to take a side when it comes to the Middle East. That's why I'm against the war. If we were doing anything other than putting on a show, it would have been over in days. I think Uncle Sam should wear Playtex underwear. Were too pantywaist to say that the Muslims have chosen for themselves to be an enemy of the US.

We needed Iran then to create an environment for us to sell weapons to Iran and Iraq. We need Iran now as a problem to keep the weapons eceonomy moving again.

We didn't bomb Iran in 1980 because Carter was a weak spineless President. Carter, AKA the father of radical Islam, couldn't lead a troop of Girl Scouts which caused the birth of state sponsored terrorism in the Middle East which we are still fighting today...

192, you're wrong. The Iranians released the hostages within minutes of Reagan being inaugurated...

You have to remember that Iran had a revolt/civil war. There was no solid central government at the time, and I recall it was described as a 'mob'. You can't attack a mob like that.

They did have rescue efforts, and the day Reagan took office they were released. The reason the hostages were taken is because the Shah came here after being thrown out and the hostages were the result of that protest.

The president of Iran wasn't known well yet. In fact had he not been elected, do you think the general public would recognize his name?

NATO.....the UN...... presidents who didn't have the balls to stand up for America and do what should've been done..
Strange how the whole world is in this century...yet the Middle East has been stuck in the stone ages..
You make no sense..first you say we should bomb them..now were are and you say you are against war.....are you a relative of Clinton? He was a pantywatse..he sent a few bombers over there when they attacked our Embassy & the USS Cole...dropped a couple whinney bombs and flew them right back....then raped our military...gave away our deep water port in Ca & threw the Suez Canal in for good measure...wrote 36 E.O.'s (Executive Orders) so his scummy friends could get out of jail...what a man he was, huh? He started the war if you really put all the facts down in black & white.
Like a nitwit whacking a beehive full of angry bees....instead of taking the proper actions....Bin Laden & Saddam wouldn't have stood a chance in hidding like cowards behind women & children.
The musliums declared a holy war against the whole world full of infidels....not just America....back in the late 70's.....

Because Jimmy Carter was president.

Notice that the hostages were released within 12 hours of Reagan being sworn into office.
