Well do you think that means that people can not drink until he returns. I do not understand what is meant by--until the kingdom of God has come.

I haven't drank in years and I know people who like to drink. I think that is mostly wrong. I do know that Jesus drank wine, so I do not condemn people who are able to handle their liquor and drink responsibly--not drunk. But don't most people drink to get a buzz or drunk???So how can it be justified then??

Christ never said drinking is bad, he said KJV: "Be not DRUNKEN with wine wherein is excess." People want to say that "OH!!! you can't drink alcohol." But, in fact, Christ never said do not drink, he said to not become drunken with it, because our bodies are the temple of God. In fact, Timothy wrote to Paul that "a little wine doeth well for the stomach." But, at the same time, Christ said, "abstain from all appearance of evil." If you buy and drink wine, what is keeping others from seeing you as a Christian doing this and saying, "Oh, they drink, I guess it's okay to drink too"...and then they fall down in their Christian walk because they drink in excess. See, it's a balance, and it takes personal convictions.

Temperance equals Restraint

Drunkenness is a "lust of the flesh" (Gal.5:21). We in Christ Jesus "walk in the Spirit"; in the Spirit we will not "fulfill the lusts of the flesh" (Gal.5:16).

A fruit of the Spirit is "temperance" (Gal.5:23). We who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts (Gal.5:24).

In Christ we are washed, we are sanctified, we are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God (1 Cor.6:11 below).

Merriam-Webster Dictionary -
Main Entry: tem·per·ance
Function: noun
1 : moderation in action, thought, or feeling : RESTRAINT

I don't think God and / or Jesus ever said drinking was bad. Drinkining ISN'T bad - in moderation. Jesus never got fall-down p*ss *ss drunk, or got hammered and beat his chidren. (which he didn't have) If you want to know why drinking is bad, go ask the people at an AA meeting.

He didn't say drinking was bad - let's face it, if we didn't drink our bodies would shrivel up and die - but fruit of the vine is not necessarily wine - it's also juice!

Drinking is not bad; Jesus and his disciples drank wine on many different occasions in the Bible. However, gluttony or excess is a sin, therefore, if one gets drunk all of the time, it is bad.

Everything in moderation. I go with Jesus turning the water into wine. Wine is actually good for you health-wise as well -- again in moderation. Wine is made from grapes. The Bible tells us to not be drunk on wine -- but be drunk on the Holy Spirit.

Drinking isn't bad. Drinking for the intent to get drunk, or getting drunk is bad. Jesus's first miracle was about drinking-just to keep the party going.

Drinking is not bad if taken in moderation. Many proverbs say that. "a little wine is good for the stomach."

however, it's being a drunk that's frowned upon. Don't overdo it. Jesus didn't overdo it, so it's alright for him to do it. My grandpa did. he sinned.

The bible says it's alright if you don't get drunk.

I don't think Jesus meant that we're not allowed to drink - but drinking too much is bad (everything in moderation).
