you need a LOT more Bible study to be able to ask such questions. your lack of knowledge is highly evident.

No one said anything was supposed to happen on June 6. That is the foolish imaginings of the unknowing. There is absolutely nothing in the bible to suggest anything ever happening on June6. Why would Christianity be discredited? No reason. The ignorant have got 666 on the brain, because in Revelation the bible says to pay attention, that is the number of the anti-christ. You will wear it on your forehead or your right hand to be able to survive. It could be a computer chip, or something like that. Christians won't accept it. It will put you in the fast lane to hell and everlasting torment. Gods people are not the ones who will be discredited, little lady .

silly...shows how much everyone knows the Bible. 666 is not a date or a person or anything that anyone knows for sure. The Bible gives the hint that the Beast has that mark and perhaps you can avoid it by watching for that number. That it will be "associated" with the beast.
Christianity isn't discreditable...now the people who are ignorant...they are. Please don't get Christianity confused with the idiots who put people down on here or in public that are naive enought to believe they are bless me machines. There are true pure people out there for a heart of God...don't confuse them with "religion" there is a difference.

Only if Christianity or Christians claim that something significant will happen today -- which isn't the case.
In fact, I just read an article about how most Christians don't see today as different from any other day.
So, you'll have to look for Christianity being discredited somewhere else. You're definitely barking up the wrong tree here.

I"m sorry, I've read the Bible through on several occasions and I'm finding it difficult to locate the verse again that said June 6, of the year of our Lord 2006 was a day significant more than all other days - can someone help me, so that I can answer this question? Christianity is never discredited by those who are true born-again believers, but by those only in its religious outposts who do not know of the power of its Holy Spirit and therefore rely on that power and not the power of a date here and there or a mass media frenzy.

When nothing came of June 6, 2006 it did not discredit anything. 666 is the mark of the beast. It has nothing to do with the return of christ nor did it mark any occassion that was talked about in the bible. Jesus told us in the bible that no one would know the coming of the Father, except the father.
Matthew 24:36 Jesus states that: But of that day and hour Knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Again Mark 13:32 it says: But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

666 does represent the mark of the Beast. But the Bible clearly tells us to be ready for the Lord's return becuase no man knows the day or the hour.
As far as discreditting Christianity, it can't be done. People have tried for centuries, but we're still going strong. The Truth shall endure forever.

Nothing is supposed to happen on 666 according to ANYONES bible. The only one here who is discredited is you through your iggnorance and bigotry. The old testament of the bible, book of revelations, chapter 13, verses 16-18 read:
AND HE CAUSETH ALL, BOTH SMALL AND GREAT, RICH AND POOR, FREE AND BOND TO RECEIVE A MARK IN THEIR RIGHT HAND OR IN THEIR FOREHEADS:
AND THAT NO MAN MIGHT BUY OR SELL, SAVE HE THAT HAD THE MARK, OR THE NAME OF THE BEAST, OR THE NUMBER OF HIS NAME.
HERE IS WISDOM. LET HIM THAT HATH UNDERSTANDING COUNT THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST: FOR IT IS THE NUMBER OF A MAN; AND HIS NUMBER IS SIX HUNDRED THREESCORE AND SIX.
This has nothing to do with a date. God is warning man that the anti-Christ will come and he will be in the form of a man and he will bear a mark and the mark will be 666.

No its just a day. The bible does not say that the Devil will come on 06/06/2006. Plus there have been like 200 6/6/06 in the time since Christ died. That date comes around every 100 years.

Why in the world would it discredit Christianity...when the Bible talks about the end times it says, "No man knoweth the day nor the hour."
People saying "Things are going to happen...prepare for 6-6-06!!!! The world's going to end" is a bunch of rubbish.

It will only discredit the profiteers who feed on fear and try to make the Bible say whatever sells the most books and movies.
This whole "left behind" scaenario is a very recent invention - unheard of among Christians for the first 1800 years of church history!
The discrediting of these charlatans like Hal Lyndsay and other "Rapture" preachers will HOPEFULLY force people to look at the HISTORIC Christian religion, and rid the modern face of Christianity of this manipulative garbage being handed out in the name of Jesus.
