It all started back in the garden of Eden when Satan wanted people to worship him instead of God. So he deceived Eve with the serpent and said, "Is it REALLY so that God has said..." making Eve believe that she was missing out on something and that God was holding back something good. So she looked at the fruit and she ate it and gave some to Adam. He wasn't fooled, but he ate it. So they disobeyed and God could have destroyed them then and there, but all the angels watching would have wondered who was right-Satan or God. This began the issue of Universal Sovreignty. So God immediately put into place the provision of the ransom and foretold about Jesus-it is the first prophecy in the Bible-Genesis 3:15. However, God's purpose for the earth has not changed. He will bring to reality all he has promised in the Bible. Psalms 37:10,11 and Revelation 21:3,4 talk about some of the things that he will do. Everyone can be in the wrong place at the wrong time-in the book of Ecclesiastes it says that 'time and unforeseen occurence befall them all'. Also, God himself does not try anyone. James 1:13. The source of our troubles as humans can sometimes be ourselves (making bad decisions), our imperfection, or the Devil himself. I hope this helps.

It's not God's will that any should perish. God is never the one to initiate bad things to happen to people because he loves all of us, but there are times where he will allow something to happen, such as a natural disaster, but will never leave us without hope. Whenever something bad happens, if we call on God, he will take even the worst of situations and create good out of it.

Natural disasters could bring many together I guess
that one was awkward though
If your girlfriend dumps you or something that is different. God may allow those sort of things to help you understand the basic rules and learn some important life lessons.
Don't knock god. He's smarter then all of us.
ALSO! against popular belief bad things do not happen out of karma. God does not work by karma and revenge. I uphold all values of the church and I don't walk out my front door and find a $50 bill on the doormat.

God has a reason and a purpose for everything. It might be for others to get saved through seeing certain situations. Or to make Christians stronger. Such as Job, he was a great man and christian. God allowed Satan to take everything away from him-his family, livestock-everything. He still had strong faith in god.
in Job1 after this happened he said:
[21] And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.
[22] In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.
Romans 8:28 says:
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

God doesn't allow or disallow anything. If you believe in God, then you probably believe he created the universe. As created, there is nothing bad about it.
As far as natural disasters, they are entirely natural and if we weren't in the same spot they occured, there would be no problems. It's just the way things work. Hurricanes dissipate heat, earthquakes release tectonic tension... nothing bad there.

Because we live in an imperfect world. If Adam and Eve had never sinned and allowed sin to enter the world bad things wouldn't happen. One day we christians will live in a new heaven and new earth where nothing bad happens but until that day we just have to live in this imperfect world and do what we are instructed to do, let others know that God loves them in spite of what they've done and that He sent His Son to die for their sins to save them from this imperfect world.
I hope this helps. God Bless!

Not everything happens because God intends it to happen. Man made a lot of the causes of a lot of the so-called "natural" disasters!

There are some people who use the presence of suffering and evil in this world as grounds to lose hope and perhaps even to reject God. we are responsible for what we do and must bear the consequences. the evil that we do and suffer from is chosen by us not by God.
However, God also guarantees us that aside from our own evil actions God Himself will put us htrough some trials and tribulation here on earth BUT the key thing is they will never be more than we can handle and they may even be good for us.

I believe it was St. Thomas Aquinas who said something to the effect of, 'It would seem that God allows evil to exist, that He might bring good even out of evil.' (Though, I suspect he got the idea from the story of Jesus & the man born blind!) Certainly, the goodness of men often appears to shine ever more brightly in the darkness of adversity.
You might also try meditating on the Book of Job, which I once saw summarized in 2 lines:
Job: 'God, I don't understand you.'
God: 'You got that right.'
This must be the greatest stumbling block to Christian faith; it seems that most stories of 'falling away' begin with a person grappling with some evil or injustice. Either in their own life, or the 'injustice' of the Crucifixion.

We will probably never know, and maybe it is not that He is allowing it to happen. Remember there is also evil in the world, if you believe, like the devil...
If it is from God, which I really shouldn't be saying this, maybe it is a form of trying to bring great compassion into the world for the people to suffer, to bring us stronger and closer together.
