Mix one bottle of household peroxide, with 1/4 cup of baking soda, and 1 teaspoon of dish soap.
Mix it in a bowl, and never put a lid on it. Use it while it is foamy.
This will do the trick.
Test a secluded area of carpet first for color fastness.

You know I have the same problem and I tried steamcleaning and stain removers and I had no luck so Iam having to replace the carpet so when I pull the old carpet up I will put KILLZ IT on the wood which will seal it and then will put the water proof memory foam pad on them the carpet and then it will be 100% gone. But I guess that is a spendy project and I would not advise it if you are renting but if you own it than it would be worth it. My puppys are trained now so I do not have to worry about them peeing on the carpet again. Good luck to you. Amonia really pulls out the stains FYI.

Do the vinegar thing THEN after it's dry, pour baking soda on the carpet and let it sit overnight, lots of baking soda! Then vacuum. That will absorb and residual smell from the urine and the vinegar.

there are powdered enzymes that you mix with warm water that work great and are safe for the carpet. You need to go to a pet supply store not department store

mix white vinegar with water (equal amounts) and wash over the area. the acid in the vinegar (must be white vinegar) will neutralize the acid in the urine.

Vinegar and water. You may have to do it a couple of times but it should work.
