Yes, but more accurately London and the rest of England. People from London think they are the bees knees, are very parochial and know nothing of life outside London.

Yes, I was in UK and found that there was a definite divide between the people of the south (England), north (Scotland), and west (Wales). In fact, people in the the far northern part of the British Isles (Ireland) consider themselves to be very different from the English. This was quite interesting and strange. I usually thought of all of them as 'British'

Mmmh, nope not really. I never saw anything of the sort but Victorian books have some nothins of the divide. I guess its because of harsh weather (differences) and industrilisation issues on them days. Except of course Scotland and England - which , well , just in people's minds.

Very much so. Though people in the south would deny it. Leeds is in the north and it's the fastest growing city in the country.

The River Thames has plenty to do with it - forget approximately the Watford hollow, and the Midlands. particularly you spotted those Scottish backyard gnomes who've been in the residences of parliament for plenty too long now ? there is now little or no divide between us Southerners and Northeners.

Yes. They speak with different vowels. Anywhere north of Bedford is too far. Some people think anywhere north of Watford is too far.
