I couldn't possibly agree more! I am not an English speaker, myself. I am learning the language. Although I've been learning it for 15 years, now, I'm still a learner. And I think this is a very useful source for language learning.
BTW, I think that even native speakers have the right not to speak correctly, and not be told off by intolerant jerks. It's the message that matters, if you can get it in spite of the language, then focus on it, and forget about the speaker's language limitations.

I'm really shocked that some people here responded to this statement by saying "the national language of America should be English and it should be required to live here”, or “English is the language of power, civilization and knowledge. If you want access to all that, you need to learn english. And if your english is poor, it is a major sign of ignorance....no matter what country you are from. “
1) Sure, the national language of the US should be English. But that's not the point here - the point is that the web tends to be English predominant, and if you're not fluent is this language, well, you can't enjoy a lot of features on the web. I'm French and I like the concept of Yahoo answers. To my knowledge, the French Yahoo doesn't have it. Well, I'd rather try to write English on the Yahoo US than passing on it !
2) As for English being the language of power, civilization and knowledge... Well, saying that is extremely pretentious ! "If your English is poor, it's a major sign of ignorance" - I know some people who speak Russian, Mandarin Chinese and Japanese. I think they're more cultivated than one speaking English only.
Anyway, thanks for this statement, hope English native speakers will be more tolerant on the site !

Thank you so much Holy Cow for your clarification. I did pick up on this a while back, and you are right there are lots of people who have been so rude to others becasue of their lack of mastery in the English Language. Only an American (many who are monolingual) can be so insensitive and egocentric to believe that people should have to speak English perfectly on this site. You all should respect other people's language and their culture and realize not everyone is the typical whitebread American. Plenty of people on this blog are living in other countries. not just the U.S. Respect them.

you're no longer the only one experiencing the device faults - being directed to the place you probably did no longer want to pass etc. and it rather is all 'extra beneficial than a sprint annoying'. all the topics with the positioning, plus the unfair deletions and thumbing down for no reason are using human beings away. it isn't the happy place it was once. i do no longer understand regardless of if the topics are merely with Senior electorate or regardless of if all categories are the comparable. in the different categories they only seem to ask and answer while we respond to one yet another extra. in step with possibility that's what Yahoo do in contrast to and that they are manipulating an intensive down of this type. My guess is that the advertisers (Yahoo's significant source of earnings) don't have a clue what is going on. they had pull the plug in the event that they knew the quantity of the topics and the numbers leaving (except it incredibly is going on merely in this type).

i see where you are ranting from...but I believe that the national language of America should be English and it should be required to live here.
it is frustrating. If I were going to post something on a Spanish or Chinese web site...I would double check and make sure it was worded correctly.
who cares about spelling...everyone fat fingers the keys when typing...but at least have the words you type make a complete (or even understandable) sentence.

Yeah, I do realize it and I don't understand why people are always so quick to shoot someone down.
Granted the broken English questions that have seemingly stupid/trivial questions aren't always people seeking to be bilingual and are, instead, people being lazy.
