Ancient nomadic Hebrews worshipped a sky god which developed into Yahweh.
"The Hebrews had a god like the gods of others, a god with powers to be feared, a god with human characteristics such as anger and a capacity for pleasure, a god pleased by gifts - gifts created by sacrifices. Like others, the Hebrews believed that a ritual killing of an animal sent the animal as a gift to the invisible world of the gods. And, according to Chapter 22 of Genesis, Abraham was at least familiar with human sacrifice."

Moses didn't 'invent' Yahweh, he just came down from the mountain with the commandments (biblical history). The concept of Yahweh or a single God, as opposed to a pantheon of gods was already a part of Jewish religious culture before Moses.

First of all, it wasn't Moses that "invented" JHWH. Go to university, take a lesson in Theology and they will tell you that Moses himself never existed. Or maybe I should say it's unclear if THAT Moses existed that is supposed to be the author of the Bible's five first books.
Back to your question. The people at that period, before the time when Moses was supposed to be alive, people in Kanaan believed in two gods called BAAL and EL. They then developed into the only one god we worship now and who you might like to call JHWH. What is very interesting is the fact that these two gods had also goddesses as their wives. So maybe the one and only god that followed has also traits of these female gods.
It's a pity that I can't describe this whole thing better with my poor vocabulary. But if you want to find out more about this subject, go to your library and read some critical, I mean historical-critical literature about it.

Moses and The Hebrews followed believed in and followed the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Moses didn't invent Yahweh. Yahweh and the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are one and the same.
This is the same God who sent his only Son to die for the Forgiveness of our sins.

there are so many things wrong with your question I don't know where to start other than to tell you to do some studying up on history. For example, it wasn't Moses, it was Abraham (long before Moses's time), and he didn't invent him, and what do you think that Adam & Eve beleived in even way before Abraham?
